The Summer of Birdies Continues on Golfshake

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 19 Aug 2020

Accelerating through August, the Golfshake #BirdieClub is continuing to record striking numbers and shows encouraging signs of the keenness being currently expressed by golfers.

Week 4 saw 62,000 net birdies submitted into the Golfshake Score Tracker, but over the past two weeks, the quality of play has further improved, with 4.8 net birdies per round being etched in contrast to the 4.54 from the earlier period.

Included within that, during Week 5, two golfers made 13 net birdies, but we also saw four rounds with a stunning total of eight or more birdies recorded, an impressive return for anyone.

Likewise, in Week 6, another two golfers totalled 13 net birdies in a round. Could the temperate weather have contributed to this enhanced play? It's been a thrilling exercise to witness the Golfshake Community not only Play More, but Play Better.

As you will know by now, every net birdie made weekly counts for one entry into a Prize Draw, where winners are drawn to claim a batch of renowned Callaway Chrome Soft golf balls.

Looking back at the last fortnight, here are the latest lucky prize winners.

Reflecting on the round that qualified him for the draw, Robert Bulch said: "In relation to my round at Sharpley, in difficult windy conditions I managed to keep the round going through the first 12 holes and converted a few birdie chances to shoot one over on the back nine."

If you need an incentive to keep playing through the remainder of the summer, making even more birdies, then the #BirdieClub is running for two additional weeks, so there are is still a chance to get your hands on those Chrome Softs!
