Golfers Make Even More Birdies as Summer of Golf Continues
Following last week's booming introduction to #BirdieClub, thousands of additional golfers have tracked their rounds on Golfshake, making even more birdies as this summer of golf progresses into late July.
Indeed, Week 2 saw an increase of 4% in rounds tracked by the Golfshake Community, highlighting the surge of regular play that has been seen across the industry, with a 9% rise in net birdies and 11% in net eagles illustrating that the quality of golf is only getting better as Week 3 approaches.
We previously reported that two golfers had made seven birdies in a round, but while those heights weren't matched this time, the depth of impressive stats is notable, seeing 19 golfers tracking scores with five birdies on the scorecard!
And if that wasn't enough, four golfers tracked rounds with 12 net birdies, nearly emulating those two players who made 13 last week.
But just how important are birdies to improving your game? Looking at rounds that saw golfers playing to or bettering their handicap, 47% of them saw a recorded birdie, underlining that while making these gains on the course are key, reducing those disasters on the card elsewhere, lessening the errors, are also vital to shooting lower scores.
