Course Information
Perfectly complementing the Faldo Course, whilst taking advantage of the rich valley soil in contrast to the arid hillside, Christy O'Connor Jnr's course at Amendoeira offers no less of a challenge. Large areas of water demand accurate play and creative shot making, and these lakes and streams are to be maintained as a wildlife sanctuary.

Fantastic setup. Friendly welcome. Clubs picked up at front door taken to your cart and waiting for you before your round. Complimentary balls on the range before your game. Course magnificent. Fairways lush, greens superb. Nothing negative to say, its all good. They even clean your clubs after the round. Will return to play the Faldo for sure.

Much more space than the Faldo course. Suits big hitters. Flat and beautiful with plenty of water.

Another superb course, tough for a beginner but hey, you have to give it your best shots. A lot of water, streams, lakes etc and lost count of balls sunk. Think the fish are pushing them around but thoroughly enjoyed.

Extensive facilities available with three courses - O'Connor, Faldo and Par 3 floodlight course. Bot O'Connor and Faldo are challenging courses especially with high winds and golf buggies highly recommended as extensive walks between greens and next tee.
Apartments excellent - large and well finished. Club house nice and reasonable food.
Taxi or car required for any off property restaurants required.

this is a reasonably interesting course considering it could easily be another forgettable resort course, but there are several holes that are memorable. Overall in good condition despite the heavy use. Some holes can play very long into the wind. Despite being longer on the score card as the sister faldo course, it doesn't play as long as faldo. Superb practice facilities. Green fees are expensive, but if you get it as part of a stay

Very nice course - forgiving in places and challenging in others, a good second course, but the Faldo is the better course (but much tougher)

Played the O'Connor course last week and many of the holes were pretty 'samey'. You have to be able to drive the ball well - fairways are forgiving - and some holes are long. With accuracy the water is not in play. Fairways good, bunkers not and the greens were terrible due to them having been sanded. I was told on reception the greens had been maintained the week before but think they must have been done a couple of days before; it was like putting on a beach and ruined the round. If I had known this in advance I would have played elsewhere. Good test of golf (played to my handicap of 11) but I preferred the challenge of the tree-lined courses eg. the great Old course in Vilamoura.
