Oceânico O'Connor Golf Course
Perfectly complementing the Faldo Course, whilst taking advantage of the rich valley soil in contrast to the arid hillside, Christy O'Connor Jnr's course at Amendoeira offers no less of a challenge. Large areas of water demand accurate play and creative shot making, and these lakes and streams are to be maintained as a wildlife sanctuary.

Most Helpful Review
I just found this course a bit dull. I played it a week ago, scored well, but I am struggling to remember any of the holes. If you can make long carries then the Faldo course is a much better option.
Clubhouse, facilities and friendly staff were excellent. - Sep 10 2016

Course is filled with water as a pose to the Faldo which is more sand. But as with courses in the Oceanico group Perfect tee boxes. Lush fairways and pure true greens.

Golf Course Reviews for Oceânico O'Connor Golf Course
A very attractive course, in immaculate condition when I was there in May/18.
The facilities are good, with a quality club house, excellent practice green and complementary driving range (the only negative being that, perhaps because it is free) it can be hard to find a stand).
Buggies were compulsory when we were there. I am not a huge fan of buggies, but because of the long distances between green and tee it probably makes sense.
It is a forgiving course, with wide fairways. The rough is cut at the right hight to be a penalty, but still show the ball. It is hard to lose a ball except in the water. This helps keep the pace of play reasonable. Our two rounds took 4 and 4.25 hours, which is pretty good for holiday golf in Portugal.
The greens were excellent. Reasonably quick and very true, although some in our group found them difficult to read. The course played long, with not a lot of run on lush fairways and the greens are generally well protected. The water encroaches on most holes, but generally there is an option to play safe and still get on or close to the green.
The only thing that let down the experience was the service in the bar/restaurant afterwards, where the service was slow and chaotic at times. Admittedly we were a large group with new orders coming in as each group came in, but most places seem to cope with this better.
Amazing facilities, apart from the rude lady who met us and took our details for our tee time!
One of the best golf resorts we have attended, I'd definitely return.

Very nice course littered with water and bunkers making it very tough, we played it in the wind and it ruined me, I left part of my sould on that course
Excellent condition and would love to play it again for the test!
