Shocked by comment that it's too posh for some - here's a club with no Captain, no committee and no reserved parking places and staff who welcome you like long lost friends. The course is brilliantly laid out and you rarely see anyone else around, making it feel exclusive. I'd love to be good enough to play off the purple tees, the yellows being difficult enough for me! The comment on the 18th being a "Con" due to being "tricksy" is strange; here's a hole where your approach shot has to be carefully managed before even attempting par with a second shot downhill across a lake - more what I'd call a good test of golf. Clubhouse is totally relaxed and no sneering members ready to pick you up on the wrong colour laces or whatever; food excellent too.

Currently ranked 57 in England's Top 100 courses. Opened in 2005 I have wanted to play it for some time but you cannot "pay & play" - eventually found a "Charity Day" for £75 which fitted the bill. My feelings about the course/club are mixed and best summarised by pros and cons.
Pros: High quality greens; some great/beautiful holes; very well maintained/manicured.
Cons: Modest clubhouse/locker rooms; stony paths; scrappy areas quite an eyesore; poor/absent signage; a tricksy 18th.
In my opinion this club is trying to be something than it is not with it's exclusivity (£5k to join and £2.5k annual membership) and very restricted ability to play. It IS a very good course but there are plenty of others that I would choose to play again ahead of this one.

Wonderful golf course which is a good challenge. Greens are improving and should be good in the Summer!

Stunning course
Worth every penny of the ~£110 green fee. Tranquill, exclusive, in mint condition and an excelltn layout. No two holes are the same and it has a great collection of par 5s. It feels like proper millionaires' golf with rarely a view of any other hole on the course. Very friendly welcome and a must play. One of the best courses I have played.

Fantastic day
What a fantastic day. Visited as part of a corporate day and the course was amazing. Torrential rain almost stopped play and conditions were horrendously soggy. Brilliant course but very very hard for absolute beginners like myself. Hopefully get back to play again 1 day.

Great course, deserves plaudits
Great day out at Remedy. This is a serious golf course. Looks intimidating but if you hit it straight off the tee to stay on the short stuff then all ok. Greens fantastic, look slow but are super fast! Club house is great and staff very friendly.
A buggy is a good idea as it is a long walk between holes sometimes.

Exsquisite, tranquil, Augusta-like parkland track
Remedy Oak has only relatively recently opened its doors to visitors. At £105 for a weekday round it might seem expensive but it is worth every penny. It is millionaires' golf at it's finest, a replication of a high-class American parkland course and it certainly had elements of Augusta about it (I've been there so I can say that). While some may prefer the century-old heathland offerings in Dorset, this is as fine a parkland course as you will find anywhere. The club were very accommodating with my request to play as a single, sending me out at 8am in a time slot normally reserved for members so that I would not be held up. The welcome I received was very genuine and I was made to feel that the club very much welcomed my business. The course itself is very interesting. The par 5s are the stand out holes, particularly #2 and 15, both of which have picturesque approaches over water. There are two risk-reward driveable par 4s on the front 9 and both nines finish with lovely holes in front of the clubhouse. The course is manicured to within an inch of its life which actually makes the greens very tricky to putt on. It is a tough course to play first time out with some of the best routes off the tee and best approaches to take into greens unclear but that is to be expected with a course you have never played before.
Despite playing very poorly, it was a very enjoyable round and I certainly hope to go back.

Top class
Never played better fairways. It was like hitting off a green. Staff very welcoming and friendly. I was a guest of a member and hopefully I will play there again. Beautiful tree-laden setting in a lovely area. Whole experience excellent. To add to all that the sun was shining.

Extremely good lay out of course. Played the course in winter and the fairways were very wet. Greens wer in very good condition though. Would go back and play in the spring/summer. Some really lovely holes.
