What The Club Says

The Mill Course is an 18 hole par 72 championship course and The Spires, a par 3 executive course. The 18 hole Mill Course covers 120 acres, dotted with lakes and gentle mounds delineating each fairway. Every hole has been designed with individual character. The course is set in gently undulating countryside with a variety of medal tees giving lengths from 5319 yards off the Ladies Tees to 6305 yards off the Competition Tees.

The Spires, the Midlands first American specification 9 hole, par 3 course with its rolling terrain and challenging water hazards, still proves to be a demanding test of golf and provides Members and visitors with an opportunity to play all 27 holes. The Spires is a perfect course to get started or brush up on your short game.

Worth a visit

The greens yesterday all in great condition, all the bunkers have been greatly improved since my last visit. Fairways dry and hard. A little windy on the back 9 at the top of the course. But a very nice round of golf.

Went on a recce for my golf society. What a disappointment, the facilities are very poor.
The course itself is OK, though very wet and boggy when I played. A bit too open for my liking. Relatively flat, no surprises or mystery, could do with more trees/bushes to 'hide' the next hole. Many of the tees are in need of repair and the course signage is very nearly non-existant. Greens OK. New bunkers with lots of good quality sand.
It is the clubhouse that really lets the place down though. A poky changing room with only 2 showers and toilets, nowhere near big enough for our society. The bar is the same, more like a serving hatch, and situated in front of the main entrance to the gym. Stand at the bar and you are in the way - mad layout . No separate function room for societies to have a meal, so would have to eat in the small general seating area. I feel sorry for the members, l have been to other 'The Club Company' venues and this is definitely the poor relation.
So a 'NO' for my society, I would be lynched for making such a poor choice! OK if you are only a 4-ball.
