What the club says: This popular Heathland course with views of Lichfield Cathedral in the distance is well situated in the Midlands, on the A51 between Lichfield and Tamworth (next door to Whittington Barracks), is easily accessible to the midlands motorway network and is close to the M6 toll road.
The course is a good test for golfers of all levels. The course wends its way through heather and gorse and you will need to keep on the straight and narrow to score well.

This course was fantastic. First time I've played it and would definitely recommend to anyone. I played it on a Monday so the price was ?65 for a visitor but worth it. First 9 are inland links style then goes into a woodland course. It does have HS2 works going on through the middle of the course but that won't change your opinion of this place. The clubhouse was top notch with a nice choice of beers and the Ham Sandwich was quality.

Great course in brilliant condition...very hard as building up to club comp in 2 weeks but still rewarding...accuracy off the tee is crucial...was a members guest so paid ?30...not sure i would ever pay the visitor fees though

Great course
In 5 years time this course will be fantastic, the new holes that need to mature a bit, blending with the old holes will make fire a really interesting course. At the moment it is still a great test though.Reviewer Rating

My favourite course
Despite undergoing some changes due to HS2, the course is still fantastic, and the greens immaculate. HS2 is bringing a new clubhouse and 5 new holes, as well as brand new bunkers on every hole.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 86 Handicap: 15.7)

Great layout
Whittington is a fantastic course undergoing some excellent changes but still very worth playing. A great heathland course. Must visit. Hospitality is superb, food and drink along with service is top notch.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: )

Fabulous Old Course
One of my favourite golf courses, burnt brown from heat wave, but with bright lush greens. Played today at probably its optimum condition.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 85 Handicap: 14.2)

Wow. A links course in the middle of England
What a fantastic course. Really lovely holes and course management skills needed. It is a real test of golf but it gives you a chance. Excellent conditions with greens not super fast(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 100 Handicap: 28.3)

Lovely course in great condition. Pro shop extremely helpful and knowledgable.
Only downside are the widths of the fairways! Will play again soon hopefully would love chance to improve middle of the round where I was awful!

friendly staff on a beautiful well looked after course. very challenging with a very good range of hazards and strategically placed pins protected by some quite deep bunkers
