Hidden gem

A good challenge
An open course, slightly links-like.Just nine holes but 18 tees.
The wind was blowing when we played and there was danger all around, from wayward tee-shots (and not only ours!)

First time I have ever played here. We played 18 holes as this is a 9 hole course with 2 sets of tees.

Needs TLC
One of my local courses, 9 holes with different tee positions if played as 18. Good layout to the holes, par threes are a good test.Usually very quiet which I think is partly due to the condition of the course. Greens and fairways both in need of some work, patchy and worse in some places. Bunkers not great either.
Good course which of looked after a bit better could be great.

Surprisingly good condition
First time here and was impressed with course condition given it was probably under a foot of snow last week. Quite a ?links? feel to the type of grass and course setup. Staff and members very welcoming. Will definitely play again, especially when wet when other courses may be suffering.Reviewer Rating

i'm a new player to golf a bit scared
As a new lady starter and playing with my Husband and his friend, I was a bit intimidated about going onto a proper golf course after only playing on pitch and put courses and going to the driving range. I found it very hard and it is quite hilly and if like me you are new to the game it was quite tiring going up the hills and banks. but really enjoyed it.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 128 Handicap: 36)

Often Poor Condition
The course, greens and fairways are often in really awful condition, due to little or no maintenance. There is no need to book a tee off time, guess why! One good point the course rarely gets waterlogged.Reviewer Rating

Course needs a lot of work. Weeds on the greens. The rough grass is what you expect to see at your local park. Good luck spotting your ball. Not worth the money at £16 for 18 holes as you just play the same 9 back to back. Probably an ok course for beginers. Much better elsewhere for the price.

Played today Gob smacked at the condition of greens most clubs temps are better would not frequent again it looks like its been bull dozed to build very disappointed paid for 18 at £18 but walked off after 9 could not punish myself any more

Good friendly clubhouse and members. Nice people, food great. The course though - take a strimmer is all I can say. Take a strimmer and beware the very slippery tee on the one hole, 3 of our party went flying. Needs TLC, need the rough cutting down, and the grass getting up, as it's like playing in shredded wheat half the time.

was really sceptical about playing the course after reading review of Wayne tbh. So really surprised when playing, Good Greens, very difficult to score, Tees could be flatter Having played many courses in the area its certainly not the best but far better than a lot.Doesnt quite get a very good on the course, but might be due to playing quite a few over my handicap.

Moved up to Lichfield from London in August 2009, played the course and joined within a week because of the very friendly atmoshere and members. Not the the best course in the area but surprisingly testing many friends who visit find it hard to score well on. Excellent bar menu, all fresh ingredients and made on site.
