a warm welcome and very friendly staff. the course is tough so don't expect to score highly. there have been some poor reviews but I found the course excellent. a few problems with wild boar digging on the course but very little evidence all in all well worth a visit

Nice course but slow round - shouldn't allow societies in front without spacing

A great course to play. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not an easy course but is a fair challenge. Overall in a good condition. The greens not in their usual condition but true and very playable. Overall a great course to play with excellent facilities

Been playing this course for the last few years and have noticed a slight decline in its condition which spoiled the experience for me, greens were dissapointing, clubhouse and staff were fantastic.

Played El Chaparral Golf Club on the 10th May 2015, all the tee boxes were very bare with hardly any grass on them. The course was over watered with most fairways saturated with water, greens seemed to be in pretty good nick though. \A big negative on the day was a fourball made up of members in a monthly medal. On the 5 hole our group of 4 were putting out when a ball was hit into the green narrowly missing one of our group. Our buggies were clearly visible behind the elevated green. As we were teeing off on the par 5, 6th one of our group approached the group behind to ask why the shot was played and if were playing slow to drive up in their buggie and tell us but do not play your shot first? The member would not apologise as he said we would not accept it? When you are playing a new course as tight as this play is surely going to be little slower than usual as you need to get your bearings for each hole? A bit more understanding from the locals would of been appreciated. Anyway the course is good test of golf, whatever your handicap is! Would i recommend the course? No if was in same state as we played it and you bumped the into the same group of locals we did!!

Not for mid-high handicappers. If you can't hit fairways and greens it could be a long day. I played March 2015. Tee boxes were battered and the ill-maintained steep sloping rough around the greens were penal to the point of impossibility if you were short sided on a very slopey green. Our round took 6 hours!! Two four balls ahead of us really struggled. Views were great. Hole lay outs were unique. Staff, facilities, bar and food were excellent.

This is a fantastic golf course in great condition. You will need a buggy and some imagination. The staff are fantastic too.

played april 2013, top practice facilities and when we played it had very quick greens. Fairways were very tight and lots of balls went missing. But it is a genuine challenge and will be a true test to single figure handicappers. Beware the first hole which requires a faded tee shot and a well struck iron kept below the flag to have any chance of a good start. Last hole is a great par three that will test the nerves.

Literally the worst golf course I\'ve ever played. Every part of the course was poorly presented, tee boxes which where badly cut if they were cut at all. A significant number also had large quantities of unevenly laid sand. Fairways were highly variable. The greens were slow, bare in many places, seemed to be a full of disease. \\The club sandwich was however very tasty and the lady driving the on course refreshment buggy was very friendly

El Chaparral is a reasonably hard course and will challenge the higher handicap players. However, it is beautiful, has great greens and the 18th is a great finishing par three that really tests your mettle.
Facilities are very good too.
