Expensive.. but that's the algarve
More open than some of the older courses such Pinhal or the Old course but with more water in play to catch out stay shots. Unfortunately despite what was originally a very well laid out and planted course the owners have allowed the invasion of some horrendous thick creeping grasses into Tees, faiirways, rough and, even worse, a couple of greens. At home in the UK this would never be allowed for the money spent.Clubhouse and changing rooms much better then Pinhal. I played early so avoided what looked like a very busy late morning and thus the pace of play was however quick or slow I fancied!

Fortunately dry in most parts as it can get rather waterlogged after rain. Improved from last year. With good true greens and reasonable fairways. Bits of the course are bland and uninteresting but there are some excellent holes and it's worth playing if dry and as a twilight it offers good value.

Greens were slow,bumpy and in very poor condition.generally the course was in need of a lot of TLC..
That said..the course is a very good layout with a lot of demanding holes..maybe just bad timing but have to rate as seen..

Of the local courses Laguna suffered the most from the recent heavy rains. It's obvious that some of the fairways had been underwater for some time. Particularly holes 14,15,16. Greens were OK as were the bunkers. Buggies were banned except medical excemptions. I feel the course should have been closed.

Course is in good condition generally ( still improving after the issues of the last year or so) - the greens are hard and don't look great but they roll better than you might think - they are not particularly receptive (but that might just be me!!)
