What The Club Says

The South Buckinghamshire, formerly known as Farnham Park Golf Course, was opened in 1975 and Farnham Park Golf Club was formed in 1977. In 1982 the Council purchased more land and Hawtree were asked to develop an eighteen hole course. The course is a fine 18 hole parkland course with many established trees and ditches crossing the fairways. It is a par 71 for the men and a par 73 for ladies.

A short parkland course but not without its difficulties. Beware several sloping fairways and the infamous giant oak wickedly positioned at the dogleg of the sixth. The back 9 is very different in layout to the front where accuracy with an iron will reward you rather than risk an errant driver.

Greens had been treated with fertiliser and were a bit slow. Fairways were dry and dusty.

Too cold

Best round of golf for the past year , the middle of the month of May shouldn't be this cold but we were teeing off at 8am.Steady start and played steadily until I spoiled the card with 2 double bogeys on the back 9

Good Value For Money

Regularly play courses around the southern M25 area, as we meet in the middle. Always try to get a new course we haven't yet played. SBGC was our new course for this year. Booked via third party, so had good value for money. Staff friendly. Course not necessarily long, because t some good bunkering put the challenge there. Last hole was up hill and blind, but always good to finish with a birdie. So probably will come back.
