What The Club Says
The Course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton (winner of the Open Golf Championship in 1934) and was opened in 1972, the Golf Course & Centre is managed by 1Life Leisure on behalf of Milton Keynes Council
The course is basically flat with no steep hills to climb (good for the heart) and has only short walks between greens and tees. It measures 6,388 yards from the yellow tees (par 73 and SSS 70) and measures 6,709 yards from the white tees (par 73 and SSS 72). In the winter months, the Course continues to play off the grass tees, we are proud to say we never play off mats or temporary greens at any time during the year.

Waterlogged!!
Played here on the 6th December and 80% of the course was underwater, not just muddy, but literally under water. The course really should have been closed The damage done by letting players and trolleys will take the rest of the season to repair. (It will probably take that long to clean the mud off my golf shoes, trousers, golf bag, clubs etc). I've made a mental note not to play here until June next year, it may have dried out by then.Reviewer Rating

Should have been closed
We have had some terrible weather recently, and when courses get as bad as Windmill Hill was on Sunday 19th November 2023; they really should close the course, to protect it from even further damage from trolleys, feet and club strikes. I have never played a course as wet as this was, with standing water around most of the course. None of the tees were in play, but they don't have temporaries, so we were teeing off just ahead of the normal tees, and most of those places were very wet too. The greens were the only places with no standing water. Bunkers were places for water to gather, and obviously it was pointless trying to rake them, even if rakes were available. We were a small society (11 players), but the groups behind us were 2 balls, a 1 ball, then 3 balls. Luckily, they spent time looking for balls in all the leaves around (especially on the fairways), so, whilst we let the 2 ball through, knowing that all 3 of our groups would do the same, it didn't help to speed anything up. On the food side, there is a 'cafe', but our deal was supposed to be for a full breakfast, and in the event we only got a bacon roll. Hopefully the price reflected this.Reviewer Rating
