Although over 9 months ago when I booked and played the course with a society of 12 (The "Fore" Society). I am now rebooking and spotted the opportunity to review the course and the hospitality. The hospitality and lunch was most excellent especially the curry, all set in a very amenable well appointed comfortable room with excellent views.

I loved the course with its rocky outcrops and spectacular ever changing views due to the cloud formation over the panoramic view of all the surrounding fells.

Not a long course by any means but still tricky with a few quirky holes all very good though.

I would recommend this course and the club house hospitality to anyone. A great venue.

Our round at Windermere was a real challenge but very enjoyable. The course is like nowhere else I could imagine playing golf as it is very hilly. The views are spectacular and we were lucky to have perfect weather. This is a course I will enjoy more the second time round as there are lots of blind shots and places where accuracy is far more important than distance. The yeardage of the course looks short but it felt like the longest course I have ever played. If you are not physically fit you will need a buggy. My playing partner and I thought we might need headbands to stop the sweat rolling in to our eyes after pushing our clubs up some of the slopes.

Staff and pro were a delight.

Played here on a Friday afternoon in a group of 14. Even though it was wet and miserable the staff were good and course in good condition. Course is short and tight but as an 18 handicapper I really enjoyed it. Hilly and lots of blind shots which I usually hate but this was one of my favorite rounds ever. The lads without electric trolleys found the up and down hard work.

Only played once but a very interesting but tight course. The clubhouse is fantastic with free towels for visitors and friendly staff. The food was excellent.

Stood on the 8th Tee looking across to the lakeland mountains on a sunny evening has to be one of the best spots to be in the UK. The views only add to what is a wonderful golf course. Not a course where you want to rip out the long drives but one where, for a change you have to think your way away around the course.
If you want a test in how accurate you are with your tee shots and approach irons then you will not be dissapointed. Add that to a friendly reception and great food what more could you want ??

What a great course! Because it's short, you've got to treat it like a links course and leave the driver in the bag and get out the long irons. If you're not hitting straight, and, or, it's windy, you're going to lose a lot of balls and get crucified! A course where you've got to think about each & every shot. A delight.

Outstanding golf course - do not be put off by the 67 par. Whilst this may be a short course the challenge and thought you have to put into each shot makes it a significant and incredibly enjoyable course to play.
Add to this the amazing views you get from the 'top' of the Lakes... try and get to Windermere as soon as you can!!

Very short course but don't let that put you off, small greens, fairways are tight and undulating with no bale out area for wayward shots. The staff in the shop were welcoming and let me have the round cheaper as there was hollow tining and sanding going on. Good views and course in good condition.

Beautiful course beautiful location

Booked for 08:04 but arrived 07:30 with no other players in sight. Ground staff busy at work. The first is quirky with the challenge of negotiating a decent natural obstacle and away we went.
The fairways were well maintained well cut and clear of cuttings. The free we're even better and quick as!! There are some interesting challenging holes and the views outstanding. Well worth a visit if you get the chance.
One minor gripe was the solo female playing two balls that tee?d off after us and challenged us about teeing off early, much like she had!! She is the reason I would never join a golf club. She as good as told us she would be playing through and questioned out tee time. I chose not to question hers, or the playing of two balls or the fact the playing solo she should really wait. Had she however have spoken to guests at her club a little more politely we would happily have invited her to play through, even playing two balls.
As long as you tee off after 07:56 you will really enjoy your day out on a wonderful course. It's short and without bunkers but the challenge makes up for it. Good luck

Great course

Very undulating but all holes are different. It is a great challenge and the greens are very true but fast and difficult to read but a fair test.
