Well laid out course, but....

Not played Carus Green before and was looking forward to it as heard good things about it. Friendly welcome all round, decent enough breakfast. But was told that greens was not up to their usual standard before going out, surely they can't be that bad we said, unfortunately they were. Some fairways and all greens had not been cut for few days it looked liked. The greens were patchy at best, very difficult to putt on. Shame as the course is well laid out with some good holes. Not the longest but quite tight in places.

Great Lakeland Course

Carus Green is a super course with many different holes. There is water about and some tight fairways. The course is in excellent condition and the greens are quite fast but are true. The views are terrific and the 18th hole with a pond in front of the green makes for a challenging finish.

Great Track, even in the cold.

Played here as a twilight round, pretty quiet so not rushed at all.
Greens were running true and of a good pace.
Some holes able to grip it and rip it, some you need to play sensible.
Food in the clubhouse was lovely, as too were the staff.

Outstanding

We stayed at Carus Green in the penthouse apartment for a weekend and was completely impressed with the quality of the holiday and golf facilities. The accommodation is first class, the clubhouse is outstanding, the golf facilities second to none and the course was extremely well planned out and in great condition. The whole experience was wonderful.

New Season

First game of the year here after extremely wet winter. Course in good condition but still needs a bit of drying out.

Having previously played Kendal and Windermere really appreciated a less arduos and almost level course. Some of the greens appeared to be under par but this could have been due to the amount of rain in June. Fairways were in goood condition and many were very generous and forgiving.

Course very wet and muddy with flooding in places. Still recovering from December flood wipeout. Winter greens don't help with putting averages.

Not a very interesting course. Very flat and featureless and the greens were in terrible condition. I appreciate at this time of year they are prepping them for Winter but other courses seem in much better condition. Club facilities excellent but your not playing golf in there!
