A shorter 18 hole course split by a railway line into front and back nine. Has a pond on the ninth and a difficult uphill tee on the 18th. The greens are notable by the number of green side bunkers. The first nine is fairly flat but there are some raised areas in the back nine. The 19th hole is a short walk from the car park.

My last review I gave facilities & services a fair which was a wrong review. I would like to add the service we receive from the staff in the office was and is first class, they are all helpful and friendly.

The course is developing into an excellent course. It is not yet complete however the green keeping staff are making great in roads into making necessary improvements. The course is now receiving the care required to make with great greens and defined fairways.

I am a little fed up of people knocking this course. It has been steadily improved in recent years, and still remains an adequate test of golf. People should remember that when this course was designed in the early sev3seventies, it only had 14 holes, and was not as well maintained as now. There was always a queue to get onto the first tee, and sometimes the wait was an hour or more. None of the trees had been established, and the ground in front of the 6th (now 9th) green was susceptible to ponding. The first green was only the raised level, the 4th green was driveable from the tee if the ball was sent over the corner, the seventh was played from what is now the 10th tee to what is now the 11th green, and the 14th was always played as a dogleg (old 10th). Signs by the first tee strictly forbade the wearing of wellingtons!

Don't knock the course where I developed a lifelong love of the game, but rather, go and enjoy playing it, and encourage others to show it the respect it deserves.

Greens fantastic for october!! been playing here on and off for 7 years and never seen the greens and course so good, highly recommend, well done to all staff.
