Have played 7 different course over the past 7 weekends. This is comfortably the worst. The front 9 isn\'t that bad but the back 9 is the worst I have ever had the misfortune of playing. At £14.50 which is only a few pounds cheaper than I have been paying for some very nice courses I will not be playing here again. Very very poor.

Course is due to close soon being sold for housing very sad was a good little beginners course short but testing with two excellent par fours to start and finish showing signs of being run down. The greens a little overgrown and very very slow with fringes full of seedlings a shame. Played this course as a beginner years ago sad to see it go.

The new groundsman did some very good work over the winter on the bunkers etc , However now we are told told and see that a large number of extra areas of rough are being created , and these are not in sensible positions and unnecessary, also some of the bunkers are in very poor condition , with long grass growing around them and stones in them

There is a lot of ground work going on at the moment. When this is complete could be better.

the course its self was ok, but its something you would expect from a muni. the back nine looked like its had some time spent on it, some off the greens had some serious returfing done recently and that's lead to uneven ground. but over all i think the lack of respect from other player leaving litter all over the place, i stopped picking it up to put it in the bin at the end of the hole or even the next, as with the divots i replaced mine about 30-40 others.........

"William Wroe is an 18 hole, par 64, 4368 yard, parkland golf course. It is a challenging test for any standard of golfer where placement rather then distance is key"

Challenging - due to very poor greens, very little money spent on upkeep of municipal course, unlike sister course Altrincham which appears to get most of Trafford Councils attention. Recent repairs to back 9 have left several fairways and greens in a very poor condition.

New Tees have been under construction for several months. Fairways are a mowers width wide should you go wide of this then you have very little chance of finding your ball.

A shame really as this could be a very nice little course, furthermore there is a great butty wagon between front and back nine and a small clubhouse which during the weekend you can get a beer or two.

Can't keep blaming the poor winter and previous summer!
