After reading mixed reviews me and a friend decided to give it a bash as we thought it looked suited to us as we play off 26 & 28.
We were indeed proved correct and thoroughly enjoyed it and for £14 on a Saturday it was a steal. Maybe not challenging enough for some better players but well worth a visit in my opinion and we will be back at some point for sure.

This course was in excellent condition when we visited, especially considering the winter we have had. The holes on the first part of the course are a bit samey, although the par 3's are a good challenge. The final 5 holes over the road are good old fashioned links holes. The course provides excellent views over Tynemouth and out to sea.

The staff in the pro shop and clubhouse were very friendly, as was the member who pointed us in the right direction when we got lost on the course. Finally the food was both excellent in quality and price, and at £16 for a full day's golf Whitburn is worth trying out if you are in the area.

Very boring and a wide open course!!! Most of the par 4's are very similar, followed by three consecutive par 5's that are squashed together and only the greens are different! Hole 13 is a nice par 3. Greens are over rated to say the least and course could do with a major shake up! Clubhouse food is very poor, beer not good and expensive.

a very open course which makes it enjoyable to play as it is not too punishing of wayward drives. Some great views out to sea as well as north past the major conurbations of tyneside to the cheviot hills beyond. We played on a very benin evening, i think the course may be a differant animal if a stiff sea breeze gets up.
a lot of the holes are quite similar and a bit more variety would not go amiss. there are however some very nice approach shots to play into some pleasant and interesting greens. the clubhouse and locker room seem very tired and in need of some rennovation but all of the people we met around the club were very friendly. at £10 a round from 5 o'clock the value cannot be in doubt !!

Very good course with greens always in very great condition due to drainage. Staff in shop very friendly and helpful, green fees very reasonable and visitors pay a day rate. If playing at reduced rate times offers excellent value. The course is very open and exposed so can be difficult when the wind blows, but is very fair to all golfers. Being on the north east coast make sure you have attire to suit all weathers.
Overall, well worth a visit.
