This was my first round on a links course, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The course was very tight and required accurate shots to avoid groups playing on other holes - we managed to do this! The course was in great condition, no sign of the rain which had been coming down in buckets the previous day. Only complaint is some grumpy members who played behind us - we were no more then half a hole behind the group in front, and when I went to say hello as we crossed paths on the 18th tee, I was informed, ''well we didn't enjoy following you'' - FYI we got round in about 3 hours and 45 minutes, which I think is pretty good - however, the other members we met on the way round were all friendly. £37.00 for a lovely links course is good value and I would go back.

Best i have ever seen this course. The bunkers are tremendous and the greens were extremely fast. This course is certainly looking more like a traditional links course. Well done the greenkeeper and his crew.

Lovely links course

On arriving at the course the club pro could not be more helpful chatted about conditions, tips on holes generally lots of great advise .when preparing to start met several members who where playing that morning all shared tips on the course everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The course was in great shape even with all the resent rain greens were brilliant allin all I would recommend everybody play this course.

Best course in the west of Cornwall

A biased review as it's my Club. The course is a fantastic test for all abilities, 9/10 times the wind will test your links metal. The standout hole for me is the 10th, a short par 4. A blind tee shot on the right line for the long hitter will reward a low score.
A must play course if your visiting the Duchy.

Proper Old School Golf Course

Really enjoyed my visit to West Cornwall.

A proper old fashioned course that you have to think your way around which is great.
I think I hit driver once on the front 9.
The fairways are undulating and compact and a fair few blind shots - but these are well marked out)
The greens and bunkers are superb.
The front 9 feels a lot tighter and there is a few chances to open up on the back with some stunning views over the small local town and sea.
If the wind picks up it will become a real test! But enjoyable one.

A great place to play golf

What an experience. Great course interesting holes and amazing views. I suspect it would be a lot tougher when wind really blows. Only concern is a lot of blind tee shots

Fantastic!!!!

Played a few courses in Cornwall earlier in the year, but taking everything into account (Course condition/value for money/friendliness) this was easily the best.

What a beautiful golf course! A real test of golf with incredible views.
A superb lay out with a lot of blind shots, but that's because of the dunes & other natural obstacles. The whole course was in excellent condition, with the greens fast & true.
You've really got to think your way around this golf course & I'd love to play it again as there are a number of different choices I'd make.
If you're in Cornwall & want a round of golf you have to play this course.

a long way away from where I live in London but a trip down to visit my parents was well rewarded by 18 at this beautiful golf course with my dad. some of the best views I have ever seen on a golf course! a really challenging links course, luckily we had some rain so the course had softened up a bit as it was very hard and the undulations didn't help. I would love to play this course again and if you're in Cornwall then I would definitely recommend it!

Great course greens were a little iffy but hey ho. Wind got up on the back nine with the sea mist coming in making it very difficult to play at times. Would I go back yes I would.

Check for the 1 Tee Time on Teeofftimes.co.uk like I did to get the round at 1/2 price

I played the course twice in October with my wife. We used 2 fore 1 vouchers. It makes the course affordable and great value for money. These are only accepted after 14.00. On both occasions we didget out a bit earlier.
The course and greens were in excellent condition. Play it twice if you can. We got very confused the first time. There are a few crossovers so you have to be careful. I play off 19 and found the course manageable. My wife is a high handicapper and found some of the carries very hard. I think she enjoyed the scenery more than the golf. There are some stunning views as you go round.
If you are in the area this is a must. We found the members most welcoming and helpful.

Oldest course in Cornwall on coast near St Ives with beautiful views from every hole over the coast from St Ives right round to Godrivey lighthouse. Links course. Every hole offering a challenge. Greens (lightening fast) and fairways in superb condition. Good club facilities (parking a little tight on spaces for visitors), Made very welcome by club. Challenging course due had full defences when I played (strong winds). Most enjoyable course I've played.
