What the club says: Whilst the course owes its existence to the military; Tidworth Garrison Golf Club owes an even greater debt to legendary golf course architect Harry Shapland Colt. H.S. Colt is world-renown for such golfing jewels as Muirfield, Sunningdale and Wentworth. When designing a course, Mr. Colt's vision began with a survey of the land, deciding where best to site his greens. First to be chosen were normally the short holes and this is perfectly displayed at our 5th & 13th holes, both of which are superb, one-shot holes. The 12th & 16th are both wonderful golf holes, with the 17th almost as testing and arguably the prettiest.
With a par and Standard Scratch Score of 70, Tidworth remains a genuine test of golf, even with modern equipment.

First visit in over ten years. Always enjoyed playing here. But unfortunately the course hasn't changed for the better in those years. Where too start. Yes investment is to be seen. But why would you put links bunkers on a downland course. Practice facilities haven't changed. Lack off bins and ball washers. I counted 6 bins and less ball washes in total on the course. Greens very slow for the time off year I played. Which was June. And pace off play would have kept up with a pga tour event. Also being a harry colt design. Which you'd never have guessed as the removal off rough, bunkers,trees is such a shame. Hopefully the next ten years will bring a much needed change to a once wondering, charming golf course

Varied and challenging course with some very memorable holes. Short game area is a great asset. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Food and drink great and extremely well priced.

First time round here playing in a comp. More parkland than I was expecting given the area it's in but interesting enough. Decent amount of variation amongst the holes and more up and down than I thought. Course itself was in good conditions with greens being quite firm but putts rolled well. Nice clubhouse and good food after the round. Look forward to having another go at it in future.

Great course
Challenging course on well draining chalk with very fast greens. Varied holes up and down the hillside mean players have to calculate how much to take off or add on to distances. The greens need to be read carefully down hill putts can race past the hole pace was faster than my home course. An enjoyable visit.Reviewer Rating

Top Quality Course
Played here in mid-April 2021.It was a clear, warm, sunny day, and the course looked in excellent condition as I drove in to the club.
I was not disappointed.
From the warm welcome and help in the pro-shop, to the friendly members, this place was very welcoming & friendly.
Tee boxes & fairways were in excellent condition, as were the greens, which were very fast, and well-looked after.
An excellent halfway house serving a good selection of snacks & drinks.
Challenging holes, and cleverly placed bunkers to trap the unwary.
Lovely terrace for drinks afterwards, and bask in any sunshine on offer.
Highly recommended.
Note: The club is on the edge of a military training area, so it can be noisy at times, but on the other hand, the sign of armoured vehicles manoeuvring over the distant countryside, or Apache helicopters flying low adjacenct to the fairway as you play is really something quite unique & special.

Great Course

Tidworth Garrison Golf Club is a Fantastic Course to play on, Very Well set out and the amenities are first class, From the second you drive In you are welcomed with a fantastic view of the 1st hole. Great course, well worth a visit if in Wiltshire or surrounding area
The Monday offer of ?20 for 18 holes after 2pm is an absolute steal. Nice fairways, fast undulating greens and a beautiful layout make it a real challenge. Play here regularly over the summer season and always find it tough.Reviewer Rating
