What the club says: A well maintained chalk downland course with spectacular views over North Hampshire. The course is well established having been in place for 100 years. The free draining chalk means that the course is rarely closed or on temporary greens.

A great course
Played last Saturday in a two ball. A very nice course with variety between holes. The chalk means that it drains well so is playable even in the winter.Reviewer Rating

Lovely Views
This is a 9 hole course with two flags per green. First nine played from one set of tees to the red flag the second time around you play from different tees to the yellow flags.Course is maintained by the club members so don't expect super fast velvet greens, but they are a good pace for the amount of break on the putts.
Great views over Andover and the Hampshire countryside from the top of the hill.

great 9 hole course with welcoming atmosphere. The greens and condition of the course is fantastic for this time of year.

The standard of this 10 hole course for the time of year is magnificent. The greens are great and run true and they have just cut the fairways for the first time this year. Great little course especially when you think all the work is done by volunteers

the greens are now in superb condition and the course is looking immaculate. Not the longest but accuracy needed and the par 3's are really tough.

greens cut too short for winter way too quick. Greens and bunker need more work but fairways ok. Great social side to the club though.

not bad for this time of year. Bunkers need a lot of work as too steep so if ball lands in them it rolls right to back of bunker giving an impossible shot as no swing. Better sand would help. Fairways in good nick but greens are full of moss however they run smoothly.

Andover is a long established members club, very close to the town centre. It is a fine downland type chalk course and is therefore very well draining and stays fully open when many others are either closed or playing on temps. The course actually has eleven greens with the 6th hole just being used once and the 18th having an alternate green from the 10th. Overall, the course is a fine traditional rather open type where wind can make or break a score, with just a couple of climbs, after that it is farly easy walking. One or two holes are fairly similar up and down, but all in all, it is a very playable course with the signature hole being the drop hole 9th par 3 - not as easy as it looks!

played here a few times mostley when other courses unplayable, very enjoyable course, can be windy especially on exposed hillsides. more a course for medium-big hitters, greens are usually well kept.
