Decent range and practise green. Chipping area needs attention. Always enjoyed the layout, probably in the top dozen in Herts. Greens lush and receptive, sensibly sloped, bunkers mostly good.
Fairways have suffered in the dry spell, as have most places. But it’s not a great sign when the only work you see the green keepers doing is running along the strips off rough and trimming grass that is millimetres long. There are 101 things to be done that are surely a bigger priority. Another greenkeeper walked across our line of play oblivious.
If I was member I’d be asking questions of the maintenance supervision. Rating on here about right.

Greens fair considering amount of dry and hot weather been having. Fairways v fast. Playing so short for August. Like everywhere though, just needs a drop of wet stuff.

Worth the test
Aug 2018, the course is like all others, dry as a bone, except for the greens.These are maintained to an excellent condition, and to a near carpet condition. The use of mature trees provides a good screen for closing down "straight, simple" shots. Linked with the position of bunkers, excellent.Reviewer Rating

Great day atThe Hertfordshire
I played in an Organisers Day at The Hertfordshire recently (the second I've been to) and had a great time. I've played at The Hertfordshire before and I thought the course was in good nick considering the recent hot, dry weather. A good knock
Course is generally always in a good condition. A little wet in places due to weather.Some well designed holes with a challenging back 9.

Jewel in the Crown
A great Crown Golf course. Has the feel that it started as 9 holes and then another 9 were added later on, as the back 9 has a very different feel to it. Front 9 is open but the rough is very thick, whereas the back 9 is tree lined and tight. Greens are superb and fairways are particularly nice. Great walking up the 9th towards the club house. Lovely course, friendly staff
A really nice course, front nine open and forgiving with a beautiful challenging back nine. The course was in fantastic condition with some outstanding holes, a very fair course with plenty of chances even for an 18 handicapper. Staff at the club were very helpful and friendly and made our society more than welcome, I would definitely recommend this club.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 89 Handicap: 16.7)

Interesting course
Good course, with interesting holes. Fairways good, greens good but when I played a bit slower than expected, rough is very rough, easy to lose ball in the long grass, bunkers in need of some care, some hade limited sand.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 19.6)

Lovely course, Great practice facilities, course was in top condition, Few random big big puddles of water in places but rest of the course was superb! Good food and Great bar for after.

Great course
Great day with 40 fellow gofers, course played very well. Greens is great, condition. 19 hole was Pleasant, food and drink great.(Round played: Apr 2017 - Score: 85 Handicap: 16.6)

Stand out back 9!
Course in good condition. Wet in places but greens ran well and fairways in good nick. Front 9 very open. Gets good from 7th hole onward. Back 9 has some really lovely holes. Only let down was a group of members in the bar after the round giving me a telling off for opening the door to go and sit outside. Left a sour taste. Would play again and recommend!Reviewer Rating

Great course amazing value
