Don’t play at this time of year
At least 9 holes should’ve been closed, the fairways were flooded or if they weren’t flooded they were like marshes. Lost numerous balls that were on the fairway, where they’d plugged or ended up in boggy puddles. £30 for a course in this condition is a joke. I’m sure it’s lovely in other seasons but I’d avoid at all costs in the winter.Reviewer Rating

Poor drainage
Very boggy after previous day’s rain. Should have been half the price for fairway conditions alone.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 108 Handicap: 28)

Not helped by a 4 ball infront that refused to let us through leading to our 2 ball taking 4hours 45mins to get round a par 70 course. Speaking to a member at one of numerous hold ups who said this happens all the time there.
Won't be heading back for another round in a hurry.

Good course
Good course enjoyed the layout, some nice holes and greens in good condition. Fairways and tees needed a bit of TLC but the weather has been really hard.Reviewer Rating

Good but not great for the money
Paid £50 to play on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. Course layout and condition were both good but not £50 good. Very different feel to front and back 9, front more open, back tighter in the grounds around the manor house. Greens ran very slow.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 85 Handicap: 18.4)

Stunning but muddy
Stunning course, however like most courses majority of course extremely wet and muddy. Played as a visitor and cost was ?30 with 2 holes closed of due to conditions which compared to other courses is fairly expensive, was given option to play 2 other holes instead although course was fairly busy to be able to do this.Course has a large driving range and putting practice area which are very good. Even with wet and muddy conditions was an enjoyable round.

Fairways have suffered in the dry spell, as have most places. But it’s not a great sign when the only work you see the green keepers doing is running along the strips off rough and trimming grass that is millimetres long. There are 101 things to be done that are surely a bigger priority. Another greenkeeper walked across our line of play oblivious.
If I was member I’d be asking questions of the maintenance supervision. Rating on here about right.
