Well worth a visit if in Oxford area
I read the Golfshake reviews and agree 100% the greens are magnificent. Not overly undulating but well manicured and the ball rolls true. They had fertilized them and added some blue liquid feed to them so the colour of them is a fantastic green.Some really interesting holes. Really enjoyed the dogleg left 3rd. the short par 4 6th is full of danger - a great hole. not forgettig the SI 1 par 4 15th which looks nonchalant from the tee, but a tricky green to reach.
A couple of the par 3's whilst short feature lots of water making them real nerve janglers.
All the tees were perfectly manicured too.
Par 5's were modest in length so quite par'able
Proper wow factor on the 18th tee.
Overall well worth the £50 green fee.
There is more water than trees so it should be Studley Lakes not Studley Wood.
Highly rate the sausage bap to finish in the very nice terrace
Happy with an 83 for my first visit

Tuesday twoball
Played this with my son as we were staying in the area. Had to call because booking system doesn't cater for juniors, then pleasantly surprised to find my green fee was only £24 compared with £40 online. We arrivdd early and had plenty of time to hit balls on the range, practise chipping and putting, whicn was necessary because the greens are like lightning!We found ourselves behind two fourballs, but this wasn't too bad because we were in no hurry and there was noone behind us. The course has skme excellent holes such as the 3rd, 8th and most of tbe back nine. Plenty of room to open your shoulders, but you need to be in the right place on the fairly large greens.
I would on!y mark down one hole, the 2nd, simlly because it is a blind tee shot and we had no course guide or app to help us. There isn't even a marker post to give you a clue about line. The club website doesn't have a course guide which is disappointing.
The othe comment I would make is that the course generally lacks definition, but this may be because we are still early in ths season and the grass needs to grow. The result of this made itmore difficult to see the fairways and greens.
I would certainly come back, but not before I have learnt to putt better!

Best time of year to play
Having just had 2 Tournaments one on Sky TV.This course is in very good condition.Greens are best they have been for a while & bunkers have had extra sand added.Younwill not be disappointed & the Club is The friendliest around.Reviewer Rating

Excellent Course
Visited today with a friend. We were both very impressed by this course. There is a variety of challenging & less challenging holes. The course is in superb conditions - my colleague observed that some of the tees were in better condition than certain other courses we'd visited in Oxfordshire. Fairly new and open course. Easy to get to and facilities and welcome all good. No fuss for visitors, which is always a good thing. Fairways were ok, Greens very good but needed a cut - probably stayed long as only just hitting summer. They remained true.

The course was in excellent condition tee to green. The intimate elegant clubhouse has a very genial atmosphere friendly staff. Highly recommend a visit.

After all the heavy rain and bad weather the course was in great nick. Some small amount of water towards edge of fairways but the greens were the best I've ever played on. No weeds, true roll, like a carpet and were receptive to approach shots. better greens than Frilford, Heythrop and Chipping Norton
