The course is in the worst condition I’ve ever seen it. I know we’ve had a long winter but compared to other course in the area this is the worst by far.

The condition of this course leaves a lot to be desired.
Greens OK, although Green-keeper has obviously never played golf in his life given the illegal pin positions.
Fairways moderate, hard to tell where rough starts.
Tee's & bunkers are an absolute joke, clay like Sand, either rock hard with cracks or an abundance of sand which is full of foot prints. Tees are nothing more than a farmers field which have more broken tees on them than blades of grass.
Appear to let anyone on, booked a tee time with no one 30 minutes either side of me, yet we had 4 * 4 balls in front of us & another group behind.
Crazy they have the front to charge £50 for this, wont be returning.

What has happened to stockbrook, the clubhouse has not been updated since I played here 10 years ago if anything it's gone backwards since then with the tacky chairs, as for the course the greens were like putting in the fairways and the fairways are like the rough.

Grass left in between the trees makes shot making impossible and finding balls tedious... The tee boxes are all uneven and on 12,13,15 almost unplayable!!!

Try Crondon if you want an enjoyable round as the course is superb and the clubhouse may not be great but at least it's not a let down

I hadn't played Stock Brook for around 10+years but after going round this week, I was very disappointed with the condition. The greens were slow and uneven, the tees were in terrible condition, bunkers weren't raked and the fairways were long. Overall it felt like the place had been left to rot. The clubhouse is lovely as always.

They mak you play with others if you book as a two online an refuse to give you your money back if you don't wish to play with others. (Even though they don't mention it and it isn't even in their small print. Disgusting. Won't be playing here again

Disappointing

We had a small society day at Stock Brook Manor yesterday. The welcome and service in the Clubhouse was fine but given the underfoot conditions (very wet) it was questionable whether the course should have been open. The majority of holes were on temporary tees and some of the greens were still showing signs of being hollow tined and deep scarified but in fairness, given the conditions played ok. The biggest issue was course signage - there are 3 loops of 9, we were playing the Stock and the Manor (Brook being "rested") and in some places it was very difficult to establish were to go to get to the next correct tee. With the temporary tees some of the par 4s were playing more like long par 3s.

awful greens

this was the 4th year my company held there golf day here and the greens were probably the worst i have ever putted on.

they had recently undergone there autumn maintenance which looked like in involved dragging Freddie Kruger across all the greens. while this shouldn't be a problem, the greens weren't then sanded, reseeded and rolled properly as they were bumpy and gritty with some rather large stones on them and that made putting a complete lottery.

the rest of the course was in good condition and let down by the greens

Used to be a lovely course to play but the condition around the greens and the greens themselves were poor. Plus the taking out of key bunkers and making certain greens smaller make it a very bland course to play.

Played today as part of society. Manor, do not bother with, once you've played the first 3 holes you enter a field with 6 holes. Most uninspiring 9 holes I have played. Things did improve on the Stock & Brook 9, but still many holes are up and down. Nice use of water on a couple of par 3's. Greens are unbelievably undulating, many a 3 putt on these. Clubhouse and facilities, are I am afraid about 2 classes ahead of the course. For value for money, definitely could not recommend this to fellow players, irrespective of handicap.

Played the Manor Course for a quick after work 9 holes.
Generally short and unassuming.
Gets boggy in the winter months as I remember.

tricky short water holes

WE played the Stock +Brook combination where the 4th and 7th short holes set up two difficult par 3 holes. Otherwise quite straight up and down the hills.
