Course Information
The club was first opened in 1903 with 3 holes and by 1907 a full 18 hole course was laid out by Willie Park this being completely remodelled in the 1930's by Messrs Harris and Colt.

Second Visit to Shooters Hill
Thoroughly enjoyed my second visit to Shooters Hill Golf Club for the Vet’s Invitational Day. The course was in excellent condition with lush fairways and excellent greens. The course is very undulating as the name suggests and is a challenging course for any level of golfer. The green staff have made maximum use of the lush fairways in weaving their patterns when mowing. Excellent buffet lunch in the Clubhouse with a very friendly group of members.Reviewer Rating

south east London's finest
very well kept course as the name suggests very hilly although not a long course the elevated greens or elevated tees make club selection a huge factor and reading the greens is something that only local knowledge will aid you.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.6)

Shooters Hill is in very nice condition at the moment with true greens and nicely tended fairways. Being a non-member it would be good to receive a more friendly welcome - when we arrived the pro shop was locked and being an evening tee off we paid at the bar and set off. Halfway up the first fairway the pro caught us up, demanded to see the receipt and got me to change my socks to white. Fair enough, but there was no apology for being closed and crucially he had brought no scorecards with him. If you don't want my money don't invite me on the course, if you do, please treat me with a little more respect.

Good, though short, woodland course, in excellent condition. Quite tight - it's one to leave the driver in the bag most of the time. Fast greens. Worth a trip definitely.

Played here a couple of times and it's an undulating well looked after course. You need good course management and a good day on the quick greens to score well. Nice but members focussed so the green fees are high £25 twilight....

Course was reasonable for the £25 charged, although a number of the holes are alike.
The pro wasn't helpful at all, insisting on us waiting for an hour till 1 o'clock even though the rain was coming down and course was empty. If we could have started earlier we might have completed our round instead of finishing on the 15th!!
Overall enjoyed the experience apart from the grumpy pro.

Always in very good nick and although Par 4s in the middle get a bit samey - tee shot down, approach back up - it is undoubtedly a decent course and short game challenge. Only gripe is the club seems begrudging of visitors and they are one of those old school places with petty, fussy rules. If you have made business decision to welcome non-member revenue, then make them feel welcome.

even with the extrem hot weather, the greens were in excellent condition. Loved the course, although short, the varying tee boxes made the course good to look at each time. Perhaps too many par 3, but even then i didnt take advantage !..

£20 after 4pm midweek represents very good value on this course, which is set up very nicely right now. Although it's short, the greens are small and the fairways tight, so getting on the green in regulation from the rough is not easy. The greens are slippery too. Probably need to play this a few more times to get to know the right club to take off the tee - a wayward driver will leave you with no second shot.

Good course, well maintained. Short, but VERY tight...shots 10 yards off will be in the trees or out of bounds...so it is a good challenge. Good greens, but they slope too much for my liking...makes sinking anything outside of 3 foot difficult.
