Gorgeous Course
This is a really nice course which I played for the first time. Although the greens had recently been hollow tint treated with light sand they were very true and fun to play, lots of twists and turns. Drive straight and you will do well here solid putting. The course is full of trees bunkers and ponds so course management is key. The club house itself is friendly and accommodating. What more can i say.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 98 Handicap: 17.8)

Great Value in South East Birmingham Area
We played here as a four ball on a Friday in mid February at the start of the good weather and had the course almost to ourselves. The course was in great condition for the time of year with all tees and greens open. we are all high handicaps and enjoyed the challenging dog-legs and par 3s. We will be back in the summer.Reviewer Rating

Rock hard greens and fringes, but putt so well !
Sept Men's open 2017 @ £20.00Great welcome and played with a lovely member. course layout is superb and tight. only downside green keeper was having his revenge with the pin placement :-) and you couldn't hold the greens with anything other than a sand wedge. fringes also rock hard and many fairways parched brown so plenty of bad lies in the fairways.
Course needed water especially the greens #NoGive
You very much need to play this a few times to get to grips with clubs and misses.
great practice facilities, a range, a short game area over the round and two good nets for the quick warm up.
the clubhouse also very nice and good changing rooms. back in 2018 for sure.

First time, won't be the last
I had the pleasure of playing Shirley GC with my Father during my recent trip back to the UK. We tee'd off just after 8am, and the course was already busy, with members waiting behind us to get on. My father's a member and had arranged the lend of a half set from the club Pro for me. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a set of used Taylormade irons, a new Stealth driver, and a Scotty Cameron putter. Needless to say, my game didn't do the equipment or the course justice. What a fabulous little layout, not the longest but very testing with avenues of trees, sharp doglegs, and carries over water. It was also in surprisingly good condition when considering the unusually hot summer weather. The greenkeepers have done a fantastic job. The clubhouse bar is welcoming, and members keen to meet the new chap. One thing I will say, is that members seem to like a brisk pace of play, we got ushered around in just over 3 hours. I'll definitely be playing there again on my next trip home, but maybe when it's a little quieter in the afternoon, and maybe play at a slightly more leisurely pace..Reviewer Rating

Well worth a visit, a good test of Golf
The alteration to the tree lined fairways are an improvement making the course more interesting and enjoyable for higher handicap players. Course very wet due to heavy rain in the passed few weeks.Reviewer Rating
