very nice course just a pity about our regular weather played it oct 08 very soggy in most areas of course needs to get back to 2 fore 1 deals

Autumn Round
Despite very wet weather during the previous few days, the course held up well with only a few of the bunkeres waterlogged. First time at Shaw Hill as i am considering joining next season. Really enjoyed the course layout, quite a few dog leg holes that make you think about course management and a fair few slopes to contend with. Hole 11 is a work out in itself. Shot a 90 which i thought was good for me ( handicap 19) . Will join next seasonReviewer Rating

Very good conditions. Bunkers well kept. Pro shop well stocked and helpful staff. Would recommend.

Lovely course
Shaw Hill is a lovely parkland course, quite tree lined so tight in places.It uses the contours well to challenge you on nearly every shot, with strategically placed bunkers & some water adding to the challenge.
I particularly enjoyed the par 5's & thought they were all good.
I did find the greens a little inconsistent, early on they were quick, then average paced in the middle of the round, but then speeded up again towards the end.
Bunkers need a little bit of work, but there has been quite a lot of rain recently.
Also it wouldn't hurt the lad in the shop to smile as he talks to you.
All in all a good experience on a lovely golf course

Fantastic course

Surprising challenge
Drop in to try this excellent course. Mature parkland with grand mature oaks, lakes and streams it is well above most courses in the UK and provides some more significant risk reward options to match many top championship courses. Sharp doglegs aside and angled tee drives onto fairways, a favourite must be the 5th hole with mid-hole chicane around a small lake! From the medal tee you will need to be brave. This course is one not suited to a weaker player....most suited to a low handicapper.Reviewer Rating

very nice course, played on 19th and 20th feb 2017 with all course on winter tees (many off mats) and using mat on fairways. after a very wet period the course was quite sodden and the some areas were needing roping off to protect he course, played it using the \"your golf travel\" staying overnight which reduced the golf fees)

Course was in good condition, some challenging holes and accurate shots required at times. A tough course on the legs, buggies are available at the club house.
