Played here on a very windy day 26th october. Fantastic course, in good condition. score well when the wind is with you, because the inward 9 can be brutal if the wind is against you. Good greens, great fairways and brutal bunkers. Well worth a visit and one course i will be back to play again soon

This is a "proper" links course and, consequently, a very tough test. The wind plays a massive part in how the course plays and if you stray off the fairways you are dead. The humps and hollows make local knowledge invaluable and casual golfers, especially higher handicappers, may find it all a bit too tough, especially as there are no views to take in other then Teesside's chemical industry. In saying all of that, you do get the feeling you are playing golf how it was originally meant to be played and the clubhouse has an cosy bar, extensive dining room and pro shop with friendly staff throughout. Unusually, the course has 22 holes in total meaning members and visitors can enjoy 4 different layouts.

Nice course shame about the surroundings and the grumpy Steward! Secretary really friendly and helpful.

Don’t bother

Probably the ugliest course in England. Set between huge gorse bushes hiding any view of the sea and a dystopian landscape consisting of a nuclear power station, rusting defunct oil rigs and heavy industry. Nasty! The course is very difficult with narrow fairways set in acres of ugly scrub and greens with more waves than the North Sea.
