Excellent course, higher price than I would normally pay for a round but good fun and a challenging course.

Dated club-house with a course that has some great holes but others that could do with some challenges added.

How times change, this club used to be affiliated to the Somerset Golf Union and was the course where I won the Somerset County Scratch foursomes with my partner Barry Reeves in 1972.

A very nice parkland course with some great holes, especially the short 17th which is a severe drop hole and never easy to judge the distance, even though it is only a short iron.

Played this with a group of people on 26 Oct. It had been raining and the "no buggy" sign was up but after seeing a member (with his own Rolls Royce) of a buggy go off I complained and the professional relented. Also, one of our team had booked a discounted price with the Club secretary which appeared not to have been flowed down to the professional. We had to wait until he turned up to resolve the issue so we didnt get too much preparation time.

When we eventually got off and started to see the course, I wasnt overaly impressed. I think there are many other courses in this area which are more fun to play and in better condition. OK, maybe a bit harsh as it had been raining but the greens were in prep for winter and although you have to support this important work, the ball bumped everywhere, left right, center.....very frustrating.

as aforementioned, i think there are better courses in the area, even at the discounted price we obtained. Would i go back...probably not in a rush.

Course not for the working person , heavily used with priority tee times for seniors and ladies. They even allow 5 balls. Course is generally slow. Then lots of ‘roll ups’ by groups on weekdays (seniors and ladies) and weekend. No tee times are booked so you might end up walking away. The course is a pleasant parkland course other than that.
