Very nice course.
You need to play it a couple of times to get to know the course.
Really nice layout. The greens were still recovering. Would be nice and quick most of the time.

great drainage after heavy rain
this is a great course to play especially if it has rained heavily in the preceding days. The course is varied with many interesting holes . Whilst it lacks a bit of length the shape and topography of most holes makes it a good test and interesting.Reviewer Rating

A fantastically tranquil course, set amongst undulations and trees. The course was in great shape, particularly the greens, and has a very picturesque and interesting layout. Well worth playing if you can get on.

In immaculate condition; need to get tees away with rough for 150yards in front of most; many raised greens also a challenge.

NOTE: there is extensive course work taking place between August 2023 and March 2024 which will close a number of holes.
I am lucky to have played this course on a couple of occasions recently as it is strictly a members (and guest) club. The course was in excellent condition, helped by the late Spring / early summer weather. The greens were good (not perfect) considering we played late afternoon and there had been a lot of footfall earlier in the day due to an event. The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers etc were in excellent condition.
This is a course that you really need to plot your way around. The hazards are well placed and can catch good drivers if you are not careful. Some parts of the rough, particularly around the greens are really punishing and it can be difficult to even find your ball. Rough on the fairways is less so but its easy to be blocked out by trees.
I'm told that during wet periods some parts of the course can become soggy (hence the works being carried out).

The condition of the course was outstanding, the greens were so true and well-maintained and the location was very picturesque. The professional staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, all the small details were taken care of perfectly.

Little Disappointed
Had the opportunity to play this for a 2nd time in the last 5 years, I enjoyed the first time round but this time did not feel the green fee justified the condition. Some good changes to bunkering and the welcome friendly as it was last time.Reviewer Rating
