What the club says: There is an old-fashioned air about golf at Wimbledon - it has at least one supreme virtue that of naturalness; those clumps of gorse and the deep ravines where the birches grow were put there by the hand of nature herself, who if she be not so cunning, is at any rate infinitely more artistic than any golfing architect.

Nice tight course

Pretty nice course, short but tricky! Watch out for the dog walkers as well, who we caught a four letter tirade off, even though we shouted fore well in advance. Plus you must wear a red polo shirt! Bit strange but you won't be allowed out on the course. Nice tees and quality greens, worth a trip.

Nice short course in Central London

Course in good condition, frustrating with walkers and runners who don't look before crossing fairways.

In the heart of Wimbledon

Excellent course taking into account it?s on a common! Best greens in Surrey by a fair shout! Found that sharing with Wimbledon common golf club so course got over crowded and tough with unobservant walkers even though golfers wearing pillar box red polos. Excellent and friendly service at London Scottish staff and members

A really nice course but extremely busy as the course is shared with Wimbledon Common. Also need to be aware of the general public using the common

Great value for money and members very welcoming. The course was in good condition and firm under foot, for a short course the holes are tight and trees and small greens are the protection. The only frustration is walkers through the course.

First Time On The Common

Despite the rain and a steady stream of dog walkers the course played really well.

old course reminiscent of the past

Played on the public land, golfers have to wear red shirts. An interesting course, very unusual. Holes have names but not numbers. Good greens. Really worth a visit especially if you like history.

very traditonal course. Much more challenging than the card would suggest. Accuracy at a premium. Greens were in great shape and very true.

Not bad given proximity to London. No bunkers but clever use of longish grass in front of several holes, acting rather like bunkers.

Clubhouse very basic, but reasonable food in the nearby windmill cafe

Interesting course - no bunkers but cleverly positioned longish grass before each green so you have to go over it(as for a bunker) to get to the green.

Pleasant parkland course, very inexpensive and convenient for those living in or near London.

The course is okay... First time playing in the UK in one year since I've been here as im used to courses in South Africa. The commons part of the course annoyed me. The course itself not really impressed. But I always enjoy playing no matter where

Amazing greens for a public course. Fairways a bit random but some really interesting holes. Dog walkers annoying but thats the price to play.

Played today (having lived in Wimbledon for 12 years and only ever tramping over it as a member of the public using the Common) and was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the course was. It is a real challenge and anything not straight and you can kiss goodbye to your ball. Greens were superb. The course is really interesting with hills, ravines, hidden and undulating greens, dog legs, unforgiving rough and huge trees to contend with. The most natural feeling course I have ever played and that includes N Irish links courses. Was expecting loads of hold ups waiting for members of the public to cross each fairway. It happened very infrequently and only at a few holes which had public paths crossing the fairway (and weather was excellent and in the middle of afternoon so ideal conditions for public to make use of Common). Had a drink in the clubhouse which is all wood panelled inside. Very old school. Big downside is lack of Sky to watch the Ashes (and Ozzies bowled out for 60 too!). Surely all clubs have Sky sports these days!! Great 7 day membership deal of £595 for a year (to celebrate their 150th year). As it is only around the corner from me, I think I will take them up on this offer. Have been looking to join a club for a while now.
