wonderful firm fairways in March
4th time played here now. love this place. Just over 3 hours from the midlands but my goodness the scenery is just to die for!!Good value food afterwards too
Bit of work going on on 15/16 and sandy greens (hence the £45 Green fee) but all essential prep for a fab summer ahead
It is tough track even without wind with 7 par 4's >400 yards

A joy to play this great links
Love this course from start to finish. No weak holes. Fairways are like carpet, greens amazing, bunkers very picturesque with the long grass growing at the top to make extraction more perilous! It was the third time I've played and could not draw my eyes away from the Harlech castle overlooking the course. The mountains in the distance help frame so many holes. Love it. It's just magical. The par 4 15th is our fav with the fairway running at 45 degrees to the tee making decision making interesting. We last played in 2018 in heavy rain so picked August to play in the sunshine......but that never happened ....but loved it all none the less! Paid £85. A pound a shot - worth every penny.Nice short game practice area and driving range (£5 a bucket from the shop). though artificial turf that wouldn't support a long tee for a driver :-( The only negative all day!

Great links golf - lovely setting and lucky to have only a mild breeze. Course must be brutal in strong wind. Perhaps a little rough around the edges in terms of course condition but that really only added to the charm. Back nine stretch of 14-17 fantastic testing golf holes. Finished off with a great bacon butty in the clubhouse.

Jewel of the North Wales?
We had great anticipation for this course as the highlight of our visit to North Wales. Quite easy to find but not very well signposted, for a signature course it is not well advertised. Friendly staff and very welcoming. Great practice areas with pitching and putting green. The course was an open links course that depends on the wind for its defense. The opening 12 holes are open and challenging with the rough very punishing should you stray there. Unfortunately another course where its fairways really suffered from last years drought and still struggling to recover. Greens in good condition but not as quick as you would expect for a course of this stature. The last 6 holes through the sand dunes bring this course to life, with the only view of the sea from the 16th tee. Overall a great challenge - is there a signature hole? Well not one that stood out for the 12 of us that played this course.Reviewer Rating

I can honestly say it was a great experience to play Royal St. David's. The bunkers, views, course lay out and maintenance were all superb. The course was in excellent condition and provided a great test of golf with its long par 4's. The greens were of a high quality and the setting was very interesting. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenge.

Wow!!
We were travelling to the North Wales area for a birthday and decided to book into Royal St. David's. I had visited the area many times before and always wanted to play the course. It is long and tricky but very rewarding. In wind and heavy rain, I found it challenging but very rewarding. The course is in excellent condition and well worth the green fees paid.Reviewer Rating

Society Tour picked a calm sunny day conditions ideal.
Plenty of run in the dry conditions and the greens were perfect.
Just about managed the long carries from the 15th, 16th and 17th from the Tees Great course planning.

Fantastic welcome and awesome layout
2022 July open - first time and many positives, layout is fantastic and people super friendly. good facilities. score well on the front 13 and hold on for 18.2022 new irrigation being installed and much needed, greens needed water they putted OK but looked burned and patchy all in all maybe next year with new system they will be up there with the best again. I'm told they are pure

A Welsh Legend
This course is one of my favourites and so much so that I play it annually and am even thinking about a distance membership. Overlooked by the imposing Harlech Castle there cannot be many better settings to play golf. On a good day with the sun shining there arent many more enjoyable rounds. On a blustery damp day, it's as stern a test of golf as you will find, as a very tough par 69.Reviewer Rating

Good challenging Links
Played in high winds and the course got the better of me. Tight fairways, lovely true greens with good pace through the whole course. The front nine wasn’t as memorable as the back nine which has a number of interesting, beautifully constructed classic links holes with a few blind shots thrown in amongst the dunes.Reviewer Rating
