Old Course Dress Code
The dress code on the Old Course is that of any traditional golf club. While golfing attire is allowed in the Spike Bar, gentlemen normally wear a jacket and tie in the Dining Room.
Shirts must be tucked in at all times

Further too some reviews I've read about the old course being short and only needing four clubs??!! What utter rubbish !! In my group the handicaps were 10.14,18&22.. Out of 8 of is playing,& all under 21 HC only one played above his HC and he played the game of his life.i repeat play this course if you can,it's ranking is totally wrong should be in top 30 of England courses imo,best course around at price on offer,& you're treated very well by all there too

West course is a lovely course on its own,worth playing,but the Old Course is outstanding.Dont listen to some reviews saying it's short,off the whites it's fearsome! I've played some picturesque courses in my time,but this course in September is one the best.Front 9 are difficult,get your score there,back 9 requires your best game to get a good card,it's an astonishing 18 holes.staff and food excellent too

enjoyable round but a bit slow with my 4ball and got a bit lost around the 12-14th tees

Great facilities great course a little wet due to weather and the green slow due to this. However great start to winter golf.

Great course, and one that I would like to go back and play again. Lots of tree lined fairways, but still forgiving enough for mid and high handicappers.

Not too bad if its been wet. Quite tight on some holes. Very undulating fairways lots of Knolls and hollows around the greens. Hanging lies. Fast greens. Some good holes. 18th a belter.

A lovely course which proves that with good hole design and using the natural undulations of the land, hills and brooks you don't need bunkers to provide a tough test of golf.
Be prepared for hills as playing here is good exercise.
One of my favourite courses and always a delight to be out on it.
