Nice course with fast well conditioned Greens -wonderful setting overlooking Richmond Park with a distinctive Clubhouse .
Well received in the Pro shop but overall feeling of stuffiness portrayed by the members towards visitors - not made to feel welcome .

Frosty conditions which meant on temp greens for most of the round. The Richmond is always in good condition and a pleasure to play. The only down side is it is not cheap to play but you do get what you pay for and the off course facilities are superb. There is a load of maintenance going on at the moment which will be great when the summer comes. The clubhouse is amazing and serves great food. The pro shop is very well equipped with knowledgeable and very friendly staff.

Just played at the end of Oct and the greens were in great condition for the time of year. Its a relatively short course, but dont let this fool you, it is very tight and really tough to score well. Lunch and post-round drinks were very acceptable. Green fee was a bit high, but not bad considering you are so close to London.

Richmond Golf Club is very decent, although like previously mentioned, the members guest fee is slightly pricey. The par 4 1st may be dangerous if you love hitting low drives, with cars frequently passing by a few metres in front of you. The par 4 10th is probably harder to par than the par 4 10th at Augusta, although the course is designed very nicely. However the constant monitoring of the greens in the winter can be annoying, especially with a trolley. Overall a top challenging course.

A local gem

Expensive but worth it - a wonderfully tranquil course with wildlife meandering as you plot your way round a challenge requiring accuracy and length off the tee. Fescue is a defence as are some big bunkers particularly on some of the Par 3?s. Go with your ?A? game to fully enjoy and relish the fantastic 18th in front of the clubhouse - an 18th century Georgian mansion! As a visitor made to feel welcome even though we had a twilight tee time so clubhouse not open with our 20.20 finish. A pity but didn't detract hugely from a great on course experience.

For £90 a round I expected better. A nicely laid out course, but tight. Some holes you are teeing off over the previous green. But condition of fairways is average and condition of greens are poor. Very sandy, very bumpy. Not good value for money.

Not sure why Richmond doesn't feature higher up in any of the golf course rankings. Really beautiful heathland course with well kept fairways and quick greens in great condition. Relatively short, but challenging, with plenty of fairway bunkers. A tad expensive, but not too stuffy. Recommended!
