Played the course on the best day of the year so far, 26 degrees heat and no wind. Course was presented in great condition with firm greens that ran at normal parkland speed. Only part of the course that was not great was the bunkers with poor sand and not enough in many of them. Apart from that a great day.

I played Renfrew yesterday as a special offer on teeofftimes. The course was ok. I was not amazed by it in any way. In my opinion the course needs a little more tlc. The greens were not up to much.
They were fairly slow and bobbly. This made putting difficult as the bobbles knocked the putts off line. The bunkers hardly had any sand in, well the majority anyway. There was the odd one which was decent. I would have been a little annoyed if I had paid the full green fee price for this course as it is not worth the full fee in my opinion. If you can get a cheap tee time it is ok for a practice but I probably wouldn't play it again, I would rather pay a little more for a course with better greens. I can't really rate the clubhouse and facilities as I didn't use them.

I do agree that the course is subject to noise as pointed out by the previous review. I have played the course a few times now and switch off to it. The course is fairly long, even the par 3's require a good hit with a mid iron. For the duration of the season there can be no complaints about the condition of the course. The greens run true and the fairways are well looked after. Only criticism would be that the bunkers seem to lack sand and can be quite hard to get the club under the ball. The course also lacks imagination in places. Some of the holes are pretty bland. I would recommend that anyone play Renfrew and do so on a summer's evening when the course is at it'sbest bbefore making use of the excellent clubhouse.

Clubhouse facilities were great, the course on the other hand was extremely disappointing even considering that the weather was unkind on the day we all played it.
The course must be the noisiest golf course I have ever played with what I was told a scrapyard banging away overlooking the 2nd green and the constant planes from Glasgow Airport.
