Greens well Maintained, fairways wet ubdefoot. Club Members not very hospitable to non- members. Wont be going again.

played here in pouring rain. the greens were fantastic but the fairways were taking its toll from the weather. overall thoug hthofoughly enjoyable.

I was a member for many years. The course has had remedial work to get the drainage right but sadly it's suffering again. In the winter months the greenkeeper regularly closes the 'bottom land' (3 holes) + the 12th due to boggy conditions underfoot & to prevent damage to fairways and greens. I have been informed that expensive & expensive drainage work is planned which may further impact on holes open, temporary greens etc. So in Winter I'd check how many holes are open before you book?? Friendly club & a pretty course - shame about the drainage problems???

Very poor day because of the incessant rain. Difficult to play anything like decent golf and impossible to take in the course as all we saw was rain!

Excellent course, great atmosphere. The greens are fantastic and a credit to all at Penwortham. Course will be at its best ever in my opinion this year.
