What the club says: Located high above the lovely town of Penrith, this moorland course offers a worthy challenge to any visiting golfer. A clear day will have the added advantage of providing some of the finest views of the mountains of the Northern Lake District.

Very dissapointing
Played course on 3rd Sept and there were 17 temporary greens. £50 not worth the green fee not even half of this neither. No mention of this issue before we played golf very poor and daylight robbery!Reviewer Rating

Bad approach to visitors
Played Penrith at the start of the week £50 green fee the course had 17 temporary greens. There was no notification of the condition of the course before going out and no response from management to complaint after playing. All in all I wouldn’t even call it a game of golf, incredibly unprofessional.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful situation varied holes

A must visit
A very well layed out Golf course. Great mix of holes, some incredible views as well. Condition of the course was excellent for so early in the season.My first time there, and I will be back.

Great track with stunning views
The greens were immaculate and running true . Well worth a visit a lovely sausage butty before our tee and a nice meal when we came off

Very picturesque course in the Autumn colours
Played this course in late October, the tree lined holes were a delight in their Autumn colours. I found the course in very good condition & well drained considering how wet it has been. The greens were in very good condition & there were some great views from the course.Reviewer Rating

The best views in golf?
It's worth playing at Penrith on a sunny day simply for the views of the Lake District. Course is very firm and hard at present so presents a challenge to score well - It's def not a case of playing target golf. Not the longest course but it presents a stern enough test because of hole shapes, elevation changes etc. I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a goReviewer Rating

Although Penrith GC is up on a hill the course itself is not overly hilly. Plenty of room off the tee there are trees aplenty for those well off line. The clubhouse is excellent with good facilities.
The course is busy with members in the morning but quiet in the afternoons.

I played the course with my wife, starting early afternoon. The course was in excellent condition and we will definitely play this course again, when next in the area. It was good to see a number of ladies playing whilst we were playing!

Friendly club at the edge of the lake district. Stunning views across the lake district and a good variety of holes. Have played a few times and it's always been in good condition.

Second time I have played here and it's a gem. Early February and the greens were great even though recently hollow tined and we'd had rain. They had run out of fairway mats, which members all play off, but still let me play. Friendly club and enjoyable layout. Some fabulous views and a brilliant lake district setting.
