What the club says: Opened in 1990, Dalston Hall's nine hole course is situated on the south west outskirts of Carlisle and can quickly be reached from junction 42 of the M6. A 9 hole, 2700 yard course set in the valley of the river Caldew, on the fringe of the Lake District national park, providing a dramatic backdrop. Wildlife abounds on the course and players may well see rabbits, red squirrels, oyster catchers, herons and even deer during a round.

Needs a trim, rough very long and unplayable, firways relatively tidy but the greens need attention quick before they become too far gone. Great setting for a course, some really well designed and challenging holes. Gutted that 2 of the better holes I played a few years ago have dissapeared completely. With some love and attention could be a very beautiful and exciting course to play.

Ground boggy due to bad weather. Rough severe, not worth looking for balls more than 2 meters from semi rough. Played in tournament well organised and good food.
