Best Ive seen the course
I have played Orchardleigh many times since opening, with the latest being on the 15th June, this time with a local Society. However, I have to admit that the condition of the course is better than I have seen before, the biggest let down being the bunkers which were more concrete than sand! Since the new owners have taken over, there seems to have been much drainage works which in truth was neccessary as in a wet winter it can soon resemble a bog!The course itself is basically as was designed originally and has a fine array of holes, every single one of them being different, and some very attractive ones indeed, one of the most memorable I suppose being the steep downhill par 5 12th which gives everyone encouragement whist there is a tough finish on 16,17 and 18.
Our visit was still in Covid restrictions time so cannot comment on the catering and all that, but one disapointment are the new changing rooms, well gents anyway, very clean, very pretty, but sadly very tiny - some would say very "homely" when more than about 5 people are in there!

Fantastic setting and lovely layout, just ?ok? conditions let it down,
Played this course as a visitor; it was ?18 for a pre-paid round. The course is set against a wonderful backdrop and the layout is good. The clubhouse is also really nice and with fantastic weather, it is really lovely venue. It could be a premier course if the playing conditions were just a little better. Don't get me wrong, they were not awful, but they were just ok. There was possibly maintenance going on with the greens being over-seeded, but tees were a little bare and fairways felt a bit like ?winter? (bobbly). Despite the good deals on offer, course was not busy and we got round easily in 3.30hrs.Reviewer Rating

Very pleasant. Very warm!
Open parkland layout, with enough variety to keep a hacker like me interested. COVID restricted facilities quite a bit. But definitely worth visiting(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 88 Handicap: )

Great Parkland course with lots of trees!
We play this track every year as part of our society and this year the condition of the course was probably the best we have seen. Greens slick and true. Lots of mature trees to catch a stray drive or approach, so you need to pick your way around this course. Overall, excellent days golf, we look forward to Orchardleigh every year.Reviewer Rating

One of the best in the area
Will never tire of this course. Always gives you a chance. A little rough in places, only to be expected this time of year, early season. Greens have been hollow tined and sanded. Quite busy today but pace of play still good.(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 86 Handicap: 15.2)

Always great value for a first class course
Despite several cracks in the parched fairways this summer, the course is in excellent condition and the greens are well watered and carefully manicured. This is a really good parkland course with several quite demanding holes. Water hazards and hidden ha-has are there for the unwary but overall this is a pretty course and always a pleasure to play.
Friendly and helpful reception in the pro shop.
Some very good prices for visitors. Thoroughly recommended.
