What the club says: Wells Golf Club was established in 1893. It moved to its present site at King Castle Wood two years later. The wooded course is designed on two levels. Holes 2 to 11 circle the hills and offer fine scenic views and undulating fairways which provide some interesting lies. The 12th hole from its elevated tee is played down to a double green by the Clubhouse. The remaining holes play along the valley where accurate drives are essential.

Scenic and enjoyable
Hugely enjoyable mature parkland course with a good range of holes in an interesting layout with something for everyone. Hilly with a number of raised tees and some great views of the city and scenery. Good Mix of holes with the 12th in particular a real challenge. Peaceful and very well kept. Seemed busy but pace of play was brisk, I got round in about 3 hrs 45. Great value at £20 for an afternoon weekday round. Friendly pro shop and a really good little range. Wells golf club
Tight short course . Ok nothing that really stands out .staff was extremely welcoming,food how ever was very very disappointing. Ordered 2 friend breakfast everything was chucked in the fryer everything tasted of old oil couldn’t eat it was so poor . Sausage where hard and recooked . To be honest it has really put me off returning it was so bad .Reviewer Rating

Good Challenge
Disappointed that some of the greens and fairways were ?work in progress?with preferred lies.
Quite an up and down course - but quite challenging.
Type of course one needs to play more than once so as to learn the little
quirks.
Wonderful views as you go round the course.

A testing layout of some very tight holes, I prefer the holes 12 to 18 as they are very tricky but fair. A good standard of golf course, well worth a visit.

Better every year!
Played Wells many times over the years and have seen it mature into a fine and at times tricky test. Always a friendly welcoming club with good facilities all round including good driving range. Played again with a small group in early June and the whole course was in tip top condition, and couldn't be faulted at all, well maybe, the first cut of rough could be a bit shorter. Nice club with some interesting and challenging holes. There are 2 or 3 which feel like they have been chucked in without much thought. The 12th is a nice elevated tee and fun if you hit a decent drive. Overall I would recommend it
