Finally ticked this one off.
The ultimate marmite course. There is no course anywhere with a better setting. Can see the bay from every hole on the blue and yellow nines. The best surprise is how good the yellow 9 is , running along the cliff top.
What you make of the quirky holes on the point will define it for you. I enjoyed them, the stroke 1 is great, nothing wrong with the lighthouse par 3 or the par 5, probably does need a better marker post on the first.
Facilities aren't the best, slightly shabby clubhouse and range, pro was nice though. The red nine is fine but obviously isn't going to compare to the original course.
Trump should have bought this over turnberry. I loved it, there are enough good holes for it to deserve its ranking

Nice Course but not £50 for me. Played better courses for half the price. well worth a visit but wouldn't be that keen on a return for that money.

Played the Front/Old course. The course was in great condition. Some of the teeing points on the front are too close to other greens for comfort. The 'point' on the old course is fantastic, however the lighthouse hole was a farce as standing up on the tee was considered a success. Some spectacular views and superb holes.

A fantastic course with spectacular views and in very good condition at the start of the year. Played the new course as the old course was closed. Next time.

Guest with a member, views stunning. The old course is closed until spring 2015 due to storm damage over winter. Such a pity. However walked to the old course to the 15th later in the evening before heading off for a meal.
The course played well - we shall go back to Clwb Golff Nefyn.
Being a seasonal member at Pwllheli the fee was discounted.. Driving range near the pro shop came in handy. Happy days..Thank you GCD

Beautiful but dangerous - excellent 1-11, amazing but poor 12-18
I had wanted to play this course for years, the photos I'd seen of the old course truly stunning. The first holes along the coast are amazing, I'm talking same league as Tralee and Turnberry here for setting and I was really looking forward to starting the old course on the 11th which steps out onto the amazing peninsula.
And here was the disappointment. What is not advertised is that this whole course is equally open for walkers and tourists, who in particular make their way out to the lookout point at the end of the peninsula. It was almost impossible to play as parents and their kids wandered along the fairways, across the greens etc. Even assuming you're hitting straight and onto fairways and greens only, you still have a pretty high chance of hitting a pedestrian, no point shouting "fore", some 6 year old kid won't know what it means
Real shame, as the course itself is excellent, but I would not go back and take the risk

Played with a group of mates at end July. Good weather conditions. Amazing course, especially on the peninsular. Greens a bit woolly. Some of my colleagues thought it was the best course they had played
