Allso I think as greenkeepers we should not diss other courses, greenkeepers should stick together and help each other.

The layout of Mollington is very good. There are some short par threes/fours, a very long (621 yrd) par five and some regular length holes. There are also some interesting holes not often seen on a course of this level (1st, 10th, 12th, 16th and 17th). The course is exposed and open to the elements... the wind is almost like that experienced on a links course, which I like! It is rare to find your ball on flat ground, albeit on the fairway or otherwise. I find the course challenging but also see the possibility of achieving a good score; which is a good recipe for a course worth signing up for membership.
But at the time of writing this review there is lots of room for improvement with regard to the maintenance schedule and attention to detail. Admittedly, most of our games were played soon after the annual greens maintenance so "bobbly" and soft greens were expected. Though despite this recognition I found the greens very tough to play. Whether I played onto the green with a SW or 6 iron huge pitch marks were created, leaving my ball inches away from the place of landing. They were also playing quite slow; even before the annual greens renovation commenced... in my experience id say they were stimping at around 7-8ft. When the holes had been pulled from the green they had been extracted with such speed a raised area around the cup created "volcanoes" for holes. They seem to be rarely trimmed/repaired/moved. Rough, semi and fairways seem like they need mowing more regular and the overall appearance of tees and course furniture is poor. Bins are open, allowing litter to blow around. The land around the clubhouse is also somewhat unsightly.
The course is under new management and had reopened 18 months prior to our rounds. As soon as the course furniture is updated and standardised throughout, the pathways are relayed (or in some cases removed completely), the tees tidied up and the maintenance schedule fine tuned this will be a very welcoming course.
Excellent layout, distance, difficulty and location.
Just a bit scruffy at the moment.
Staff welcoming and friendly.
