Not worth the money
Great location and was optimistic to start. Caught in the middle of two fantastic golf courses. A middle price too but not worth ?30. Chose to play this having not played it before. Fairways were OK but could do with a cut. Greens on first 10 were not great. Could do with a cut and more attention.Reviewer Rating

Course variety in holes
Course conditions
Price
Newquay has a elevation and differing holes, Merlin is generally up and backs.Newquays course and greens were good and constant, Merlins had standing water all over the course and even greens!!
Newquay was cheaper, and we were only allowed to use the buggy for 12 holes but had to play full price.
I don't think I have ever been so disappointed in a round of golf.
Value for money, 0 stars.

However, there are far too many blind or semi blind shots especially on 6,8,10,11,13 and 16. Together with fast, hard and some sloping fairways, ball control is necessary to shoot close to par. The greens and their approaches was similarly fast, so some guess work involved.
However, the scenery was nice, as was the welcome; but the course was over priced for the normal rate of £25.

Apart from the first, the other four Par 3's are good, with 14th the pick. All three par five's play downwind, so are reachable. £18 is a fair price.

The greens were in a good condition, but the fairways needed cutting. Lot of people on the course and lots of holiday makers. Which kept play slow.

Decent
Decent for the twilight rate of ?27. Greens are ok, quality of the tee markings was very disappointing (think first cut rough). Wouldn't pay full price green fee.Reviewer Rating
