A very good course with plenty of challenges. It is a mixture of parkland and heathland. There are good practice areas consisting of a pitching area , a driving range but limited to irons. There are nets and a chipping area and of course putting. The clubhouse is very nice and welcoming with the usual menu. Altogether a very pleasant experience.

We got a very good value weekday green fee of £26. Course was in great condition and the greens were nice and fast. Play was a bit slow but the members were complaining so was probably a rarity and the back 9 got a lot quicker. Staff in pro shop were friendly as were the members. Challenging course with some long par 4s and some tough par 5s. Just one boring par 3. Nice countryside and even the Thelwall Viaduct in view is quite dramatic!

Good course with some very challenging holes, particularly the 16th! Being straight of the tee is a must for a decent score. The greens were having some work done and were difficult to gauge from one green to the next but overall well worth another visit.

Enjoyed a good morning's golf, the front 9 whilst not too difficult to navigate you do have to have an awareness of where paths, tees and greens cross from a safety perspective, there are some interesting holes and really enjoyed the back nine.

Nice course. Got the weather, but I'd like to see what the course plays like when it's wet.

Nice course, some long par 4s but set up to score well if you can find the fairway from the tee box

Lovely tree lined course. An advantage to have played before as some holes quite tricky to work out and no map on the scorecard. Lovely Pie and chips and one of the best Sticky Toffee puds ive had for a while.

Positives:
A unique course for the area, in that it varies from parkland to heathland. Holes 3 to 10 lie on the most elevated part of the course on the banks of Manchester Ship Canal. It is here the best golf is, with some very memorable holes including the 3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th as some of the best you will find in Cheshire. Greens are usually excellent all year round, and firm. Clubhouse is small, but very new and great for a drink afterwards.

Negatives
Shame that you cant play off fairways in the winter - (you have to lift and place in the nearest semi, or play off a mini mat).
Cant help thinking that if they sculpted the bunkers a little better (in the true challenging style of a heathland - ala Ganton) and tarted up the tee boxes then it would be really great. Some more ball washers wouldnt go amiss also!

Overall: Really good course and definitely worth playing

played recently using a 2-fore-1 voucher. couldn't book a 'tee time' and was asked to just show up. When we did juniors and ladies were going out. we had a choice to follow them or start on the 10th. little bit unprofessional. i didn't play well and would like to tackle the course again now i know where i'm going. no pictures on scorecard. blind tee shots. nice views. course in good condition. would not pay £30-£35 though.
