The course is okay... First time playing in the UK in one year since I've been here as im used to courses in South Africa. The commons part of the course annoyed me. The course itself not really impressed. But I always enjoy playing no matter where

Amazing greens for a public course. Fairways a bit random but some really interesting holes. Dog walkers annoying but thats the price to play.

Played today (having lived in Wimbledon for 12 years and only ever tramping over it as a member of the public using the Common) and was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the course was. It is a real challenge and anything not straight and you can kiss goodbye to your ball. Greens were superb. The course is really interesting with hills, ravines, hidden and undulating greens, dog legs, unforgiving rough and huge trees to contend with. The most natural feeling course I have ever played and that includes N Irish links courses. Was expecting loads of hold ups waiting for members of the public to cross each fairway. It happened very infrequently and only at a few holes which had public paths crossing the fairway (and weather was excellent and in the middle of afternoon so ideal conditions for public to make use of Common). Had a drink in the clubhouse which is all wood panelled inside. Very old school. Big downside is lack of Sky to watch the Ashes (and Ozzies bowled out for 60 too!). Surely all clubs have Sky sports these days!! Great 7 day membership deal of £595 for a year (to celebrate their 150th year). As it is only around the corner from me, I think I will take them up on this offer. Have been looking to join a club for a while now.

Played last night twlight. £15. Thoughts of the course changed through the round. There is no escaping the fact this is a course on the Common i.e. with walkers dogs runners etc. This is something you have to get used to, the course itself improves as the round continues. The thoughts of the course also vary depending on how you are playing. If you hit the ball straight you will score well. If you push a drive / iron off of the tee then scrambling to make par / match handicap can be hard work. Overall the Greens are great, the course provides a challenge but the lenght of the course, the presence of everyone else in the park (including the idiots who just picked up my ball from middle of fairway and were throwing it too each other as walked up to them to ask for my ball back) are just part of the course. Overall £15 for 16 holes after work is fine but I dont know how this yet plays on weekend.... but will most likely give it go... but will certainly play twlight again soon....

An interesting course requiring focus. It favours long, straight hitters which means the 2 holes across the "ravine" are particularly daunting to those whose tee shots are not long and straight. The greens were beautifully maintained and ran true. Set in gorgeous country-side. Friendly and helpful staff at the clubhouse. Strange experience playing golf with dog walkers, runners, etc all over the place so take care to watch out for them before you play your shot! (Played: 99 Handicap: 32)

Not the friendliest of clubs I have ever played at ... probably wont be back. Members knew that i was just trying the course out, so I had a lot of eyes and smirks.

Very tight, short course. Not in the best condition and had some members be very rude to us. I won't be back here in a hurry.

London Scottish golf club is the second oldest in England - apparently they have an annual game against Royal North Devon, the oldest! by a single year. The course oozes history and although short it is very tight - play to your handicap here and you've done well. The greens set the course apart from many others - they are superb and in the summer can be very quick. Well worth a game if you want a round of gold in London. Nice beer too!

Pleasant and easily accessible course in London with long par 3s and several drivable par 4s. A nice course to play if you can steer clear of people walking up the middle of the fairways, lying on greens when the sun is out, the horses and running clubs all of whom show no regard for golfers (especially on the sole par 5). The members at Wimbledon Common also get frustrated if you decline to tee off on the par 3s when there are people on the green. Can be a good round or a frustrating one. Generally good value for money. Bring a red top.

Sandy and difficult greens. New putter worked a treat as it was however dry. Nice run on the fairways, with a little due settled. Nice quiet round.
