The staff were very welcoming, the course is hilly in places with excellent views over looking Cheltenham and surrounding area. The greens had been dressed and their undulating nature made putting interesting. The 19th is pleasant and over looking the 18th green.

The course was in excellent condition except for the greens which had been tine and sanded. It was almost impossible to keep a put online or to read the greens. I appreciate this needs to happen but I also believe that a reduction in cost should be applied when this occurs. Pro shop and bar staff were very friendly and attentive.

Really challenging course. Played well but struggled to score on plenty of tough holes. In particular, the 12th to 17th offer a real challenge. some massive climbs. They also reward you with some fantastic views over Cheltenham and the Malvern hills. Course in great Nick. My main recommendation? Hire a buggy!!

The course has been transformed this year. Obviously a lot of hard work has been put into getting this course into shape. It is in great condition and well worth playing. The catering section provided really good quality food at reasonable prices.

The ghost of MacKenzie

Lilley Brook was a Mackenzie work of art, the look of the course was a Mackenzie special, the greens amazing and still amazing, but the Club have decided to change the design of the typical MacKenzie bunkers and are now in the process of replacing them with revetted bunkers. The 11th was a beautiful looking par 3 and now it's all gone, it broke my heart when I recently went back after about ten years. It was the absolute perfect piece of golf course architecture and now it's gone, whoever made the decision to change Lilley Brook clearly never gave thought to how lucky they were to be the caretaker of such a work of art. It's akin to the Louvre deciding to change the smile on the Mona Lisa. Sorry Lilley Brook, in time you will look back on the changes and realise that it was a big self entitled mistake, Shane on you.

COPED WELL WITH THE WET WEATHER

They have the most amazing temporary tees. You wouldn't know you weren't on grass! Every golf club should have them.
