My friends and I have played here many times in recent years and have found the course a lot of fun. The condition of the course is usually top notch. However, from returning after 18 holes today we could not have been more disappointed.
The greens were an absolute disgrace. Most of them were bobbly, uneven and covered in sporadic coverings of sand. I've played municipal 9 hole courses with better greens.
There are numerous GUR areas in the middle of fairways. Baffling in the extreme given the good weather we've had. Also there are several GUR areas on the side of greens. God knows whats happened to the course but it is unrecognisable from the one last year. It plays like it hasn't been cared for.
All in all very disappointing. Cotswold Hills is in a different league to Lilley Brook. I'd advise playing there.

Wet day but course still played well. Couldn’t sample facilities as all closed up for New Years Day. Would love to play again in drier conditions

Nice course, hilly and would recommend a buggy green have been treated and still in need of repair, some tricky holes but very enjoyable

The course itself always enjoyable to play. Classic parkland layout with the more challenging holes toward the end of the back nine. Definitely in the top 3 in Gloucestershire.

The ghost of MacKenzie
Lilley Brook was a Mackenzie work of art, the look of the course was a Mackenzie special, the greens amazing and still amazing, but the Club have decided to change the design of the typical MacKenzie bunkers and are now in the process of replacing them with revetted bunkers. The 11th was a beautiful looking par 3 and now it's all gone, it broke my heart when I recently went back after about ten years. It was the absolute perfect piece of golf course architecture and now it's gone, whoever made the decision to change Lilley Brook clearly never gave thought to how lucky they were to be the caretaker of such a work of art. It's akin to the Louvre deciding to change the smile on the Mona Lisa. Sorry Lilley Brook, in time you will look back on the changes and realise that it was a big self entitled mistake, Shane on you.Reviewer Rating

Amazing food and very friendly. Greens were a bit disappointing but understand the challenges what with current weather etc. Very hilly back 9 so be prepared for a good work out!

Glorious Course
Set in the glorious Cotswold countryside. Back 9 was on temp greens, but the club gave a free round(Round played: Nov 2021 - Score: 98 Handicap: 20)

Favourite Cheltenham Golf Course
This course has a great mix of holes. Plenty of bunkers and trees in the way and then into the back nine it gets very hilly.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 92 Handicap: 22.4)
