A thinking mans course rather than one for a bomber although the there are 3 very drive able par fours if you are straight enough. Par threes are very good with the sixth being the pick of the bunch.
Course mainly flat so walking very easy. Condition very good staff in pro shop and bar polite and helpfull.overall a very pleasant experience and would go back anytime

Great parkland course, ideal as a base to play other courses as so convenient to A30. Course has many delightful testing holes but if played thoughtfully can be very rewarding with some testing water holes.

the course itself is very good nice long par 3's good length par 5's and the par 4's are relatively short but challanging you can reach most of them if you can strike it right and the others if you have the guts/skill (eg. the first hole is reachable with a 3 wood but there is a body of water around the front edge of the green so no guts no glory) overall i enjoyed my day and would like to play there again. NOTE:the greens were perferated but not filled which caused some nasty putting problems... also beware the tabby cat on the 17th he will go for your ball lol..

Played after heavy rain so slow fairways. Looks gentle (apart from obvious water features) but hitting the fairways is a must. Lovely course in good nick, as said before great views and lovely apsects. Very welcoming staff and was made at home on this 1st holiday visit.
Worth a few hours of your time.

Nice parkland course.

Middle of the road parkland course. It is kept in outstanding condition for the dry weather we have had this summer, probably the lushest course I have played this year.
It is fairly forgiving with the exception of a few tight drives requiring more caution. Not too hilly and not too tough for an average player. Ghere are few bunkers here but beware of the water!

No prior warning of aerated greens

On check-in to play and prior on booking, there was no mention that the greens had been aerated leaving putting on short/medium range putts a lottery. Ironically the greens looked in decent grass condition and very 'green' although a bit slow. I like this course layout but the greens made it a frustrating round.

The course layout was nice if a bit on the short side. The greens look good but were very slow considering. There were also many unrepaired pitchmarks on the greens which made getting a good roll difficult. Also disappointing and dangerous to see that the green staff were using the 5th green to practice shots into from their storage sheds. Professional seemed grumpy and like he didnt want to be there which wasn't much of a welcome. Overall disappointing as our choice for a holiday round and wish we'd gone somewhere else.

Reviewed Jul 16 2012

Date played: July 9 2012.
I played just after some of the heaviest rainfall that the area had experienced in a very long time, so the course was extremely wet. The greens were very slow and few putts rolled true. It really is a beautifuly laid out course with some of the best par 3's that I've played, the 6th particularly so.
However, it seems that the very design of the course will make it a poor draining course and the opinions of my playing partners for the day (who are both members) seemed to bear that out.
I would probably play there again, but only after a sustained period of dry weather.
As a rider, I played St Austell 2 days later, (see my review) which had suffered the same poor weather conditons, and the 2 courses were as different condition wise as chalk and cheese
