I played just after some of the heaviest rainfall that the area had experienced in a very long time, so the course was extremely wet. The greens were very slow and few putts rolled true. It really is a beautifuly laid out course with some of the best par 3's that I've played, the 6th particularly so.
However, it seems that the very design of the course will make it a poor draining course and the opinions of my playing partners for the day (who are both members) seemed to bear that out.
I would probably play there again, but only after a sustained period of dry weather.
As a rider, I played St Austell 2 days later, (see my review) which had suffered the same poor weather conditons, and the 2 courses were as different condition wise as chalk and cheese

No prior warning of aerated greens
On check-in to play and prior on booking, there was no mention that the greens had been aerated leaving putting on short/medium range putts a lottery. Ironically the greens looked in decent grass condition and very 'green' although a bit slow. I like this course layout but the greens made it a frustrating round.Reviewer Rating

Nice parkland course.
Middle of the road parkland course. It is kept in outstanding condition for the dry weather we have had this summer, probably the lushest course I have played this year.It is fairly forgiving with the exception of a few tight drives requiring more caution. Not too hilly and not too tough for an average player. Ghere are few bunkers here but beware of the water!

Great layout
Very good, challenging course, but does get very wet and waterlogged during the winter.Definitely worth a visit just prior or after the winter season!

Lovely Course & Decent Place to Stay
Lovely golf course in excellent condition. Challenging enough but very playable for my handicap (17). Stayed 2 nights. Staff were excellent. Food ok. Bar and restaurant lacked a bit of character. Pool, sauna etc would make this an even better choice for a golf stay & play.Reviewer Rating

Terrific course in great condition
A long time since I played here, but it is even better than I remembered. A good challenge for us higher handicappers for sure. Great greens and wonderfully quiet when you are playing.Reviewer Rating

Hidden Gem
I'd heard good things about Lanhydrock from a family member yet had seen and heard very little from golf media sources. I haven't seen a course as lush as this in a very long time. Where other courses are struggling for grass coverage, this course certainly isn't. Absolutely fantastic condition with a variety of interesting holes to keep golfers of differing skill levels engaged. At £25pp after 1400, it was a steal. I'd recommend to anyone!Reviewer Rating
