Brutal Rough !!
They need to buy a lawnmower and use it, brutal rough spolt what should have been an enjoyable round. Good course layout, really tricky greens with difficult pin placements for non members. Will not play again.Reviewer Rating

Brutal course
I have just played the Morgan’s course at Hunley and frankly it was not an enjoyable round. The course itself is a good layout and a real challenge, however the rough was unreal, even just off the fairways. I lost six balls today and I know I was not the only one today. The course is not well maintained ,the greens were generally poor, fairways ok but the unchecked rough was the main problem. Think twice before paying a green fee hereReviewer Rating

Have to add some more to earlier post this year ive stayed slayley hall brilliant forrest pines and blackpools herons reach so no stranger to travelling golfer was 5 mins late for breakfast so had to do without rooms very basic old fashioned carpets and cabinets tv very small and cheap but worst of all all the very basic unchallenging begginer type course very bad fairways tiny size greens bunkers placed 10 yards too wide from greens and not enough and im only 12 handicap a better player birdie half course

a muddy day on the course,with a lot of ground work going on the17 th hole was under a puddle of water on the green so not able to putt out

would need to come back in spring or summer as we played after weeks of rain and snow, so was lucky the course was open. Very very wet but greens played well

courses in excellent nick September 16. Some holes a little short on distance but balanced by decent length par 5s, particularly on the Morgans course. However, whole experience ruined by 2 rounds ( over Sat/Sun) of 5.5 hrs each. Hugely frustrating, and lost the will to live by the end of each round. Yet to figure out why it was so tragically slow - too little time between tee times? Would have no hesitation in returning/recommending Hunley, but def NOT if a 5 hr round is the norm.

In a beautiful setting the nicely contoured course was enjoyable to play with a fair variety of holes to keep you on your toes. The greens were interesting with different levels, and although the first 3 or 4 played slow and a little bumpy they improved after that. The staff were friendly in the main and the Pro was warm and welcoming, offering advice about the course and generally receptive to any questions or queries. I'd happily recommend it to anyone at £30 per round, but even better if you can find a deal!

enjoyed the course. Greens nice and looked after. Only problem is no map to show you which hole to play so can get lost around the course. A map should be given to the players before each round

I went here for the Yorkshire Div 2 scratch championships and boy did I get a work out. The course was the Morgan course which apparently is the toughest. Talk about hilly. I agree with the other reviewers, the course in interesting, the fairways poor and the greens - well - difficult to read would be fair too.
The organisation and service were superb. There were a lot of golfers having to be fed in a short time frame as it was 36 holes. The food was delicious and quick to arrive. Pro shop had everything under control and everyone was very friendly.
Wouldn't go back for social golf. No matter how nice the views were, there are better less hilly courses around!

I visited here largely on the back of these reviews, so thought i'd better give my thoughts. largely as i think the other reviews over sell it a bit!
Obviously I only played 18 of the holes... the imperial layout. My perspective was that that this was a reasonable course, nothing more or less, with good greens, some lovely views towards the sea and cliffs but with poor fairways (admittedly after a long dry spell). It also has some unfathomable signage to find the right tee for your course.
All in all, worth a visit if you're in the area, but i wouldn't go out my way for it.

Interesting but forgiving
Course in great condition, all greens apart from one fast and true and fairways play like links. Rough is forgiving and you have to go really wrong to lose a ball. Interesting layout with a few blind shots, wind impacts shot selection.Reviewer Rating
